Congratulations on new ride very sharp. Was the compressor simply just broke when it came in?

I've been waiting a year and a half for a bronco. Just got to the point I needed a new vehicle. Have a 2010 F150 with 380k miles.
Lucked out when a guy had to back out of a 2022 TRD PRO, was on the dealers website looking, and couldn't believe they had one. Called, and they said it's in transit, and will be here in two weeks, but if i wanted it, better come down and put a deposit on it. Went down a signed the papers. I have never paid full MSRP (and felt lucky about it), and never bought a new vehicle sight unseen (but it is a Toyota, so...). Strange new world we live in!

But Ford is giving people with orders like yourself first right to switch your Badlands order over to the new Everglades trim and wait another year! You didn't want to do that??? Lol just kidding. You will love the Pro, good choice and congrats!

I am wondering about mine now. When I get home from anywhere and had the AC on during the ride, when I get back there is a small leak of water from under the vehicle on the driveway. Is that what you are talking about?

That's totally normal for any vehicle with AC.

If you had an 'AC leak' you wouldn't have any refrigerant and you'd never get cool air coming out of the vents.

speaking of waiting, dealer just called and said it's going to be first of march before it gets in. about a week delay from when they first said it would be in. It's was supposedly in transit when I bought it. Maybe delayed from the Canadian Truckers?!?

Maybe, maybe not. Mine was delayed about a week as well, and now pushed back up a couple days. I think some fluctuations are just normal.

Could be multiple things(port, rail, trucking). I ordered mine last March. They didn't secure the allocation until late July. Then they told me It would be mid September for arrival. I reach out mid September and he tells me he still has no idea still. All of a sudden a week later he texts me "wanna pick up your truck today?" As if it just appeared detailed and PDI out of thin air. Quite comical but it is what it is. Sounds like you're close which is a hell of a lot better than the position you were in with the Bronco lol.

No doubt. The entire industry is messed up and communication went out the door with it. But it doesn't really matter to them. They would have liked nothing more than for me to cancel the order so they could mark it up $5000 and sell it the next day. They legit wanted the salesman to try me like that but he wouldn't I know the salesman wasn't lying because my brother went into the same dealership a month ago looking at highlanders for his wife and he overheard the sales manager recognize his last name and say "oh I remember that one...that's the 4Runner we had to give away." (give away) lol okay

As long as people allow them to keep marking up, they will.

It’s not the dealerships fault (well it is but) it’s the consumers fault.

I literally just left about 200 to 300 dollars of merchandise sitting on a self check out. I waited 10 minutes for the person in front of me to figure out how to pay. As I was walking out, an employee decided it was time to stop watching and walked over. We the consumer need to stand up, why do I have to pay more for my shit, wait 20 minutes standing inline then have to check it all out on my own.

we the consumers need to demand customer service and proper treatment.

I agree with this statement! I also believe that taking deposits has gone too far. Toyota can’t even keep up. If something drastic happens, the dealerships may not even have the means to pay out the deposits. But as long as we have people willing to pay markups, we’re screwed!

TL;DR: Started shopping August 2021 and put down multiple deposits. Jan 28th told it was allocated (VIN provided), port arrival Feb 9th-16th, Contract signed at sticker today (Feb 19) and picking up Monday Feb 21st. MGM PRO.

I’ve always wanted a 4Runner. My last Toyota was a Tacoma that I let go back in 2010 and having leased a few BMWs and Audis since then, I never satisfied the 4Runner need. When my SQ5 lease came up in March 2021, I made the decision to go back to purchasing and I was finally ready to get my 4Runner TRD Pro. Well, then COVID shut the entire world down, and rather than go out and spend the cash if the world was ending, I bided my time for a while (even borrowing my in-laws’ old 2008 Lexus GS with squeaking brakes to have wheels when I needed them). After enough waiting, I started the hunt. No. Inventory. Anywhere. The closest I could find was a pre-owned Pro listed at $20k over sticker. Even though I am super-boujie (hence the Pro), I am equally just as cheap. I was a car broker for 7 years and I was not going to pay over sticker. I also know about Toyota’s allocation process and that Pros (and sounds like all 4Runners these days) are based on volume, dealers get what they get, no preferencing. I couldn’t find anything on a lot, anywhere. Everything incoming was already sold or going for ludicrous money. In August, I made a list of every dealer in CA and some bordering states (I started with the dealers listed on this forum that were known to sell at MSRP) and began dialing. My old broker and fleet manager buddies were not much help (read… too lazy and frustrated with inventory shortages in general). So, I got on 4 lists and put down deposits at 2 dealers that sold at sticker - I even went to some dealers selling over to test if they’d negotiate and they wouldn’t even budge (Carlsbad Toyota $8k over with a mild lift so they “weren’t charging for air”), said they would be gone within hours to someone else. The months went on and I was feeling pretty deflated (I painfully said no to an incoming Lime Rush… just couldn’t do it); I even ordered a Bronco through a friend just to see what would come first. Then January 28th I got a call from one of the dealers working their list. They had a MGM coming in and it could be mine. It was allocated with ETA late Feb/early March. I put down a $500 deposit and watched their website like a hawk, trying to be patient. When it first showed up on their website it was marked as reserved, I felt good, but still skeptical that things would go smoothly. The salesman was a nice guy, but super flakey returning calls and would say things like “if you want me to jump in the Pacific to swim out and get a better idea on timing, it’ll be $20k over sticker.” Then I got a call yesterday that it was in. I signed all the docs today and the dealer is picking me up at the airport Monday to take her home! All good things come to those who wait.

Just put my deposit down yesterday on a TRD ORP in Army Green. Talk about a tough decision, I couldn’t make my mind up between LR or AG. My last two vehicles, including my current 2018 Tacoma have been black. Was ready for something different this time. I love my 3rd Gen Tacoma but to the point I just need a little more interior room for my boys.

My 4R finally showed up on the Toyota inventory website today. Weird that it took so long. It's been on the dealer website for awhile now and the 4R is supposed to show up any day now.

Right! All of a sudden we are employees of the stores and have to do our own checkout? Most of the time, I get home and find stuff in my bag that didn't ring up. It's not my fault. I'm not an employee and was never properly trained on that complex equipment.
