I don't care that they judge, I just try to understand why there's so much judgment in the community, more than anything. it's not like you're going from a base model Charger to a Hellcat lmao but yea, I'm comfortable and secure in the two that iv'e purchased (Well my trade from my lease to my own) I'm just new to the community and its some things I just can't understand. I've been an American muscle car owner since age 19 (Cadillac CTS, Chevrolet Impala SS 96', Dodge Charger R/T 10') so I understand what it's like to see a real difference in trim. these 4Runners to me, have no major differences to the point where I'm like, "Wow". But maybe it's because I'm new. Good luck to you on your future purchase too, you seem like you're going to get the exact one you're seeing in your mind. what state are you in?

That's just it. I'm new to the community but I don't think there's as much judgement as there is fear of judgement.

    I'm in MN btw

Minnesota. I'm trying to get my wife to take her next nursing assignment out there. I hear it has its up sides to being there in the winter.

I think the reason for all the “hate” on a 4x2 is what the general reason people by 4Runners for. They get crappy gas mileage, are severely underpowered, and are not exactly a practical purchase as far as price (they are are pretty dang expensive for lack of creature comforts).

People buy them because they are capable, proven, reliable, and have a fantastic aftermarket, or that’s why I did. MOST people are going to use them for more outdoor things, which often involves some off-roading.

I don’t think most people need all that the off-road can handle. A 4x4 SR5 will be more than enough for 95% of the people out there. Get what suits your lifestyle and screw any haters you may get.

I rocked a 4x2 sport Tacoma for 5 years. I lived in the city and never even came close to needing a 4wd. I have since moved to a pretty rural area in the mountains where it snows and the weather can suck. The 4x4 is handy. The Venture is a bit overkill for my needs, but it is nice to have the extra.

Lol, it really depends on your opinion of winter! People move here for our winters, but people more often move away because of them.
