Are those the nitto ridge grappler? I just bought the newer trd pro wheels and need to decide which tires to get. I’m not sure if I just want to get the nitto Terra grappler g2(same as trd pro) for 162 or the nitto ridge grappler for 232.

Did the dealer install the heritage front grill also?

i am not sure, I’ll let you know in the morning when I pick it up (about the tires) The grille was port installed as it was part of the Xp package (apparently only offered in the southeast region).

for the grille? I think you can save yourself a ton of money and install yourself. 4runnerlifestyle.com sells the grille and have video instructions on how to do it. (Of course that’s if your talking about the grille)

Yeah it’s a super easy install. I have blacked out the front Toyota and strips black and like that look for now. I’m looking into blacking out the front and back valance though.

I’m guessing they put 265/70/17 tires on also but maybe they didn’t.

Oh I’m definitely blacking out the valances—not sure why they went with silver. I’m either wrapping it or plastidipping. I could buy the covers….but idk.

$600 for grill with labor. It would drive me crazy if one of those letters wasn't straight.

So jealous! I'm desperately hunting a LR Offroad right now, hoping I don't have to settle for another color - but I'm willing to. Every dealership close to me is marking up, looking like I may have to book a one way flight if I find one elsewhere

Called my dealer (Mountain States Toyota in Denver) to check on the status of my order I placed in December. Currently 10th in line for a white TRD Pro. Welp. Sounds like I’ll be lucky to see it before August at this point.

If they have any when I go in for my next service I will ask my sales lady, when I ordered mine she said there was no mark up on anything. I paid msrp and had it in my hands in 3 months. If they are for sale new then either someone backed out of the order, or they got them for the lot.

I always expect some amount of blowing smoke up my ass from a dealership, some are worse than other tho.

Yeah, for sure. My problem is that some of them don't seem to understand the vast amount of experience that exists out here, so when they withhold the truth or make shit up, it makes me suspicious and annoyed.

The first dealership I worked with said the vehicle I had a deposit on was allocated to them but he wouldn't give me the VIN or any sort of proof that they had the allocation for some reason. Turns out he wasn't lying and he eventually provided the VIN after I asked for my deposit back, but that was after I already started working with another dealership and they got one allocated to them. The second dealership provided me the VIN and vSpec without me asking for it on the day they received the allocation. When I asked the first guy why he didn't provide that, he claimed, "most people don't want that kind of detail, they just trust me." I laughed and told him I guarantee there's not a single person who wouldn't want some sort of assurance in addition to a salesman's word while waiting months for a vehicle to arrive with a $1,000 deposit.

They both got "my" vehicle and they arrived within a week of each other so I purchased from the dealership that was transparent throughout the whole buying process. Moral of the story (if there is one in this market) is that he lost a sale because I knew the type of information that dealerships can, and usually do, provide to customers in this market and he made me suspicious by beating around the bush and not being transparent with me. His loss, although I'm sure he had the vehicle sold before it arrived anyway. He actually tried to give me a sob story about how there's no way he'll be able to sell my "special order" because it has KDSS and nobody wants that.

I spent a month finding a dealer one I talked to wanted a $3000 non refundable deposit. I really don’t understand why dealers don’t send customers the Vspec page.

The dealers around here give you the vspec before you put down a refundable deposit. At least most of the ones I’ve been to in Mn have done that.

No way would I put down 3k down payment, I mean non refundable deposit until I knew all the details, final out the door price.

I have 2 $500 refundable deposits out there, just to show I’m a serious buyer. Once someone gets me the window sticker and out the door price of something I’m ok with, then I’ll be willing to increase the deposit, but I don’t believe that should be needed.

Even in March of last year I could not find a serious dealer in SE MIchigan to give me an allocation. I finally found one who asked for $2k refundable deposit and put everything in writing. I was fortunate and learned three weeks later my specific order was accepted in their allocation. I would get it all in writing for sure.

it shouldn’t matter, I literally put down $100 refundable in order to go on the dealers computer and build my 4 runner as wanted and have them hit the button. I walked out with the estimated total that day, only price that changed was a better interest rate on pick up

I am out of town on ski trip in Bozeman, MT and the Toyota dealership there looks like they have eight 4R's on the lot. There are 4R's and Tacoma's all over this town!

That dealer was contacting me for a good 2 months trying to get me to go with them I was like $3000 is absurd and so were all the fees they had. $500 dollar Platinium Package, $1500 Prep fee, and a $900 doc fee. The funny thing is they raised the Prep fee and changed the name from post-delivery inspection to Prep Fee.
