Hey everyone, hello from NORCAL. just joined this forum. Waiting on my 22 SR5 Premium to arrive this week (tired of waiting on an ORP for 5 months and the dealer markup). This will be my 1st 4Runner after having 2 Subaru Outbacks which were just ok, not great. Too many issues with theses those things.... I am glad to be here !!

    Welcome..!!

SR5 premium is a nice trim but I trust you changed your mind knowing what you will miss from your previous plan of getting TRD ORP. From off-road tech like diff lockers, terrain management, crawl control or optional multi terrain camera system, etc.. down to wider 7.5in wheels that are approved for bigger 285 tires. As for SR5 I miss the 7 seats on my SR5 (though many hate them, I love the 7 seat option).

Mind if I ask about "too many issues" with Outbacks?
Curious as I don't hear anything like that from a brand like Subaru. Did they have high miles? Or heavy tires that put lot of stress on the CVT? Head gasket issues are something in the past and don't hear that anymore I assume?

Thanks for welcoming me to your forum !!

@kmeeg - The ORP's are amazing, however in my area of the world there is either a 10 - 15k markup on these from the MSRP or a wait list that I was told I can be placed on that would eventually end up being a 2023. So the SR5 Premium is ok with me. No markup from the dealer.

Outback issues .... There is really long list of things that went wrong and things I just didnt expect. My 2011, had head gasket and timing belt issues. My 2017, was ok mechanically, however I am almost 100% certain that the person who wrote the code for the infotainment and electrical systems used to code for Microsoft... each time the windows would go back up or the rear view camera stayed on while driving all day or the Navigation would try to send me to another location other than what we had entered, the fix was to alwasy restart the car just like a windows based computer ... then it work for a while and begin all over. The final straw for me was the rear deck lid. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. Then it would open while driving. It was under warranty and several dealers looked at it and were unable to fix it. I took it apart and replaces all of the latches and for some reason that worked long enough to sell it to the dealer. Lat year I drove a 4Runner for the 1st time and have been hooked ever since. Not sure why I didnt buy one sooner :)
