In all fairness, my GFs 1997 Wrangler was pretty reliable. But it was a bare bones model- soft top, 4 cylinder, 5 spd manual.

The plastic windows eventually separated from the frame, and were held on by safety pins the last 5 years. Lol. Made highway travel fun.

But it probably retailed for like $10-12k.

Harleys have the same reputation problem. When everyone is doing aftermarket everything, a lot of shit is going to break.

Some Harley drivers love to downshift when they pass your open window. Makes me want to run them off the road.

Never checked the prices of Harleys. Can you get a new one for $15k?

Don’t know don’t care. Lol. I’m not the guy to ask.

I’m sure I’ll get flamed for my opinion. But I have to listen to them all summer long. It gets old really fast.

Lol. You can get a really nice Macan for 65k. And close to a base Cayenne.

I'm with you. I can't stand Harleys. Harley owner should realize that loud does not equal good. They all sound like absolute garbage.

I think the Jeep is awesome, I would love to have one of those. I got my 4Runner because it was going to do more pavement-oriented daily driving duties. But if I lived out west where there were real trails I didn't need to drive 4 hours to get to, 100% would own a Jeep. I rented one in Moab and it just made everything seem stupid easy. I won't even get into the gain you get by modifying them.

Somebody said that Jeep problems are probably overstated, I agree with that. I know people with Jeeps and I follow plenty of them on YouTube, and they're all very satisfied with their purchases. The thing with the Jeep, you don't buy one because it makes sense, you buy it because you think it's cool and you love it. Buying the 4Runner is more like buying a KitchenAid appliance, it's not sexy, but you know it's just going to work.

I have a friend who bought a new Wrangler a few years ago. She told me it was the most irresponsible thing she had ever done, but she absolutely loved it and was so glad that she did. She also said that she never saw herself taking the doors or top off, but by the time the spring rolled around she had taken the doors off and had ordered a soft top for it haha.

I’ve been a Toyota man for years and we still own the 21 venture and when the 6th gen comes out we will most likely sell the 21 and move up to that. But I will say I have been loving the hell out of the gladiator these last two months. Contrary to previous statement the interior is put together quite well. I was actually impressed how much ummph it took to take a panel off than the 4R was when I was running wires for the compressor. E1FEB3A5-16E1-4B9D-BAF3-4D59609F2EEF.jpg

whew it felt good to finally get that out.

That looks badass, I love it! Definitely would rather have one of those over a Tacoma any day.

Yes Having had a Tacoma before the 4Runner I’d pick the gladiator all day over the Tacoma. And being able to fit 37’s stock was pretty nice as well lol.

4R TRD Pro is also kinda greedy, whopping $55k.

Maybe Gladiator has different interior. Believe me the 2021 Wrangler Rubicon's interior looked sad.

Yeah, if I were to pay 55k for a vehicle I would pick a Rubicon over a TuRD PRO.

Price is not the real issue for me, maintenance is. I will starve if Wrangler keeps going to the shop. Don't forget it will be my daily driver too.

Jeep has a longer factory warranty than Toyota, unless you break it yourself, everything is covered under warranty.

You're talking about buying new, it's going to have a warranty on it.

Just guessing, but probably the most basic model, if any.

It is definitely annoying when they blast around at night full throttle. During the day, I don't mind as much.

I think some sound better than others. Some are just loud, others sound beautiful to me! ... Except when I'm trying to sleep!
