    Hi all,

My 2011 Toyota Tacoma was recently totaled in an accident (while parked!) I am most likely making the switch to a 4Runner! There is a decent deal (no such thing as a good deal right now unfortunately) on a 2019 TRD Off Road Premium. I am going to look at it ASAP.

Is there anything I should keep an eye out for? Rust spots, transmission issues, common problems etc. It has 53k miles on it.

Thanks and hopefully I can truly join the forum soon!

Man these vehicles are super reliable. I would check for rust depending on where you live. Make sure 4WD works well on a straight away. Try rear locker. If there is a sunroof make sure there are no water leaks. Those are things I would think of. Check the tires as well because if they are the original tires they are going to need to be replaced.

Thanks. I absolutely loved my Tacoma and know the 4Runner is also very reliable. I will miss my manual transmission if switching to the 4Runner. I did not use the bed nearly as much as I originally thought I would with the Tacoma. For my current needs the 4Runner makes more sense. Plus they look great!

Glad to hear there are still some decent deals to be found. I hope you get that 4Runner. As mentioned before, don’t wait too long!

If you loved your Tacoma, you’ll love the 4Runner. Made that same move myself.

Post some pics when you get it, we love pics!
