17 TRD OFFROAD

Brand new member here andIm about 99.98 percent certain I'm going to dump the taco and tie the knot with a 2017 trd off road 4x4. I like the truck a lot i really do but I'm in love with the 4runner and i know its a much better vehicle. Im looking to hear from anyone that already has one only to know how long it took to get your hands on one. Im planning on going into my dealer tomorrow to order the exact model and color i want and wanna know how long ill be waiting

 

No one has one as the 2017 hasn't come out yet. Though, it is the same vehicle as the Trail Edition and Trail Edition Premium which you will find no complaints of on this site (or any other for that matter).

 

Apparently an earthquake or something fucked up the 4runner plant and set production back. So lead time from order to delivery is unknown right now. Love my Trail Premium. Drives great and feels completely bulletproof. Plenty of 2016's around if the itch gets stronger.

 

Yeah i read about the earthquake in another thread not long after posting this one. Ive been on cars.com to seek out the exact trail model I want and they are scarce AF. Also most of them have been sitting on a lot for months being test driven and breathed on by other.... um... people. I have ocd slightly and shit like that is a deal breaker. So I may be waiting quite some time to get my wish

There are quite a few gray 2016 TE OR TEP's in Texas. Not many close to you. Good luck.

 

I just went in to my dealer today and was told I couldn't even order a 17 as of now and they couldn't tell me when that would be possible. So we found one in Baton Rouge. Exact grey trail 4x4 im looking for and im going pick it up on Wednesday

Thanks! I ve been on here looking at the countless mods but i gotta financially recoup for a while lol. Ill be honest, this vehicle is slightly above my means. I was actually pushing it with the tacoma

 

I know what you mean. For me, I had (still have) no desire to buy a new vehicle. My corporate office decreed thus, so I had no choice.... But! since my other one was paid off, I have been industriously saving $$$ for a down payment, (and hopefully) some solid bumpers. To start with. My reasoning for going with the 4runner was that IF I HAD to buy something, it would be something that I like... and it is. Best of luck getting your budget back where it needs to be. Something tells me that after the initial blow-out of saved $$$, I will be right there with you. BTW, love the colour. Mine is supposed to be the black. Hope it looks as nice.

 

Congrats Ramrod88, did you go with the stock size on the KO2's?

 

Yeah I got the 265s and they still rubbed a little bit when backing but I fixed that by trimming a 1/4 inch off the bumper. Its most likely the 1.25 spacers that caused that issue though

Dealer just called and said the providing dealer would not trade so no deal at the moment. Pissed to say the least.

Dealer found another but has KDSS and the cargo tray. Anyone have an opinion on the KDSS ?

 

Yeah I had plans on buying a white sr5 premium but my local dealer couldn't make a trade happen with another dealership so I called a dealership 3 hours away when I fell in love with my dealer built and warrantied trd off-road. They even delivered it to my house couldn't be happier.

 

Love the KDSS, however it becomes a PITA if you want to do a lift. It can be done, just need to go to someone who knows what they are doing. I would go to the dealer they are trying to trade with. It is probably close to where you are now.

 

Your Dealer built this and sold it new? Very nice. Which Dealer please?
