I paid $2,000 above MSRP in May, but got $4,000 more than I expected on my trade-in. I had no qualms about it for a Lunar Rock Pro!

Vroom gave me $2000 more for my car than I owe on it and it’s a 22 Hyundai kona with 13k miles on it. I only paid 25k when purchased new and they gave me 25k and picking it up on Saturday. Super easy process!

No offense, but I don't understand people trading in these '22 models. Why did you buy it just to sell it right away? Was it a complete impulse buy?

None taken. My ‘14 Sentra that I had before the Hyundai, the transmission was going and I had a son in basic training so needed a car that I could to and from Georgia in safely (I’m in VA)…I had researched the Hyundai and thought this would be perfect. Don’t get me wrong I love the car, I do. However on my second trip to Georgia I realized that it was just too small after nearly being run over what felt like a million times and also when I had to take my son to the airport after Holiday block leave I could barely fit his gear in my car. I had always liked the 4Runner but at the time I bought the Hyundai I was scared I couldn’t afford one, so I went with the logical cheaper choice…but now I am more financially stable and I can afford it (new job more income). The Hyundai is not a bad car, at the time it wasn’t an impulse buy as I had researched it for 4 months before I bought it. It seems like I made an impulse buy but it wasn’t, it was just the logical choice at the time.

That warranty seems really over priced for a Toyota but that’s just me.

Congrats on the new 4R and good luck to your son! My son just started basic infantry training at Ft Benning as well! He left on 12/27, but had a two week Covid delay. He is about three weeks into his training cycle now!

How tf does it take 3 weeks for a train to go halfway across the country? I feel like that should take about 2 days. /vent

Thank you! My son started infantry training in May of 2021; graduated from OSUT on 12/2. He's now in Washington State. My son had about a 5 week delay because of summer surge. So he sat at Ft. Benning from 5/25-7/2 when he finally went to basic :) Well if you need any advice or anything hit me up. I am officially a "beyond mom" lol

What is OSUT? My son has a Ranger Contract so he will be at Ft Benning for a while if he successfully progresses along! Thanks for the offer and continued success to your son!

That is the whole 22 weeks. (One Station Unit Training). Oh Ranger...that's exciting! Well best of luck to him! Yes, my son was at Benning for 7 months :( and now he's all the way across the country...it's no fun that's for sure!

Ft Lewis, WA I assume! That is quite a trek from VA. When I was at Ft Bragg, NC it was nice being five hours from home to MD. Then I was at Ft Bliss, TX (El Paso) which was cool to experience the Southwest, but I missed the greenery and four seasons of MD.

    2022 Black TRD Sport 4Runner 4x4
I had put a deposit down on a Lunar Rock Trail Special Edition, but for some reason backed out. Then I visited a Toyota dealerships site a town over and saw a black TRD Sport listed. Called the dealership and he said it was on site. Went to dealer next day (last Saturday) and scooped it up. 4x4 black on black. I love it. I paid MSRP and had to get the dealer to shave down their stupid add-on package, car wash, dent ding removal etc, all in all I think I got a fair deal. Absolutely love the TRD Sport in 4x4 and with a potential re-design next year, I think it’s going to be a unique model from Gen 5 to have!

That the 4runner I was looking for here in okie land. I really like that color, but each dealer told me they had no way of knowing when or if they would get one.

I settled for the silver 2022 TRD off road. I got it right off the car hauler, it was one of 2 that did not have a deposit on in place.

My new 2022 SR5 just arrived at the dealer. They have some dealer prep to complete, and that's ok - today was a mid-Atlantic Wintry mix day with snow, sleet, freezing rain and now just rain - but all comes with road chemicals. So, I stopped by the dealer to get a look at it. I'm excited to pick it up when the sun is shining and the road chemicals are dried up.

With Toyota no longer doing Builds. The first week of January, I looked all over the Tucson and Phoenix area for a Limited and there were no Dealerships that even had a new Limited on their lot. Scottsdale had a loaded one coming in about 2 weeks out. So i put a $2000 deposit to hold it. That was delayed until I got it this past Sunday the 6th of Feb. The wait, even with the delay wasnt bad...

Interesting to look at the color break down of all TRD Pros on Cars.com. There are about 3x as many Lime Rush cars as the any of the other colors. Not sure the idea of the exclusive color being rare really holds up.

I am not sure what they meant by that.

I did read that production was reduced at Tahara plant due to chip shortages in Jan/Feb. What the true impact is I have no idea.

That chart is for new sales / 2022's?

I could see Lime Rush being the least popular color of the Pro 4Runner's current and past!

Yep, new ‘22s. Not sales, just cars currently showing up as dealer inventory.

I love the Lime Rush, and I love how vocally angry people get about it, lol. It's like it's impossible to just silenty dislike it, it gets a strong reaction either way.

Yours must be on the same schedule as mine…was the 16th now the 17th…I’m hoping no more bc I don’t currently have a vehicle and I’d prefer it not get pushed out too long.

Not sure how that could be the case, as army green isn’t a color available on the ‘22 Pro.
