That sounds about right. As for the cost vs deductible…. Yes the plates are only a deterrent BUT might save you from having to use/dealing with filing with your insurance AND having to wait for the cats. If anything like the tundras…. 3-6 month back order depending on location. To me , plates are a no brainer if concerned. I need to get this for my wife’s 4Runner. I have them on my tundra as it’s easier to get under and get to the cats. Just my opinion though

I would get a plate if I were you. I can tell you that if your cats disappear, it's a several month wait for parts.

100% spot on! I have them on my Tundra and I'm looking for plates for the wife's 2020 4R.

No, I honestly didn't even notice them. I think I am fine going with the traditional kit but that is a nice added bit of security.

So it does look like the CBI blocks alot of the access to the cats?

Ok, thanks, I just didn’t understand why it doesn’t have O2 sensors.

The 02 sensors are in the pipes, not the cats themselves.

Yes, well there’s no O2 sensors in the pipes in that picture I posted.
The cats right off the exhaust manifolds do have sensors though.

I wish RSG included a crossmember and the skid went all the way across at the transfer case. I'll likely go with CBI or C4 for full protection, including cats. Will be removing my RCI aluminum front skid soon.

Just installed this protector skid for my 4runner and it came out pretty decent.
Also the quality of this skid is pretty nice as well and installation was simply enough that only
took me about an hour or so. Anyone interested should check out this product.

I have RCI’s full package on my 2021. It goes all the way behind the transfer case, and has another cross member just behind the transfer case. It’s all Aluminum. Another side benefit is the winter grime stays off everything but the frame outwards.

I just installed the CBI's on our 2020. On a side note, RCI just released the bolt on addition of side winglets for their trans skid plate.

I have full CBI steel sitting in the garage now, waiting to find time to paint. I’ve seen several posts of RCI cracking at the welds so I decided to just change.

Nice. It's a pretty easy install. There is 1 bolt on the driver's side that is a pain to tighten because it is right under the pipe. No issues other than that. They provide pretty descent cat coverage as well.
