I went with the OEM. The dealer offered to install valences for me for $900, but I bought them for $300 and installed them in about 30 minutes each the day after I took delivery. I’m contemplating painting the originals so if the black ones get scratched off roading I will have replacements.

Hi, noob here. Car was built 12/8. I put a deposit down 12/20. Told it would hit LGB Port 12/28. I was given a delivery timeframe of 01/21-01/26. On 01/24 it said processing and no updates since. Anyone else experience this? If so, when did yours arrive?

That is super sharp! Did you or dealer install the heritage grill?

I did the grill as well. It was a very simple 30 minute job as well and saved me a lot of money compared to the $1,500 the dealer wanted to do it.

Mine was built 12/7 and hit Portland on 12/28. But mine is still at port and there's no estimated timeframe yet.

Your dealer should be able to see the updated time frame, right?

I was able to place a reservation for a 2022 mag grey TRD PRO with no deposit. Dealer took a credit card number but I wasn't charged. When they get an allocation and can grab one on its way over from Japan, I'll be able to put a deposit at that time. Will be MSRP, no markup. The catch? Dealer said it might be a year wait.

It won't be a year. This time next year they won't get you a '22. You might be first in line for a '23 though.

Yes, I know. I said the same thing to the dealer and he said that the 4Runner redesign will probably be delayed. I don't believe that. Toyota has been right on track with their new product rollout. We won't see the spy shots because the 4Runner is produced in Japan and they can more easily hide it over there. We'll see what happens.

I actually just heard today that the port is processing it (I used the Toyota app trick thanks to these threads) and the dealership sent me a new date for this weekend! Fingers crossed!

What trim do you have? I have never been able to get the app to show anything on my ORP.

The only thing the App tells on the ORP is the mileage, gas and the last time the car was started. You basically can tell every time the car was started, which means the car is moving from one place to the next.

Don't you need to pair it to the vehicle to see when it started? I have a Pro on the way and I can't see that. The only thing I can see is that it's showing 1 mile, but says it was last updated Dec 7, which was the build date.

For my ORP, I just added the vehicle via the vin to the toyota app and it showed me mileage, gas and last updated. Maybe it needs to hit port and processed before you can see that info?

Apparently it hit freight status last night. We'll see what happens from here.

I had notification from my sales person that my 4Runner was due in port on 1/23. Last evening on a whim I checked the dealer website and spotted my truck listed as "In Transit" and with "This Vehicle has a sale pending". The port is in northern NJ and I am sitting here patiently awaiting in southern PA. I think I should see it soon.

Dang, mine is on my dealer website, too. It's not shown as sold, but I know it's marked that way at the dealership. But still, I have an irrational fear that they'll sell it to someone else.

Mine was listed on the dealership website until after I picked it up. I wouldn't worry about it, I think they just do it to get traffic. It's my understanding that it's automatic once it's on the way but they have the option to remove it if they please. Most don't from what I can tell. If they did, there would probably be about 3 4Runners across all of the dealerships websites nationwide! :D

mine was also listed on their site after I put down a deposit. I contacted the sales manager and had them remove it and they did!

Called roughly 150 dealerships throughout Texas and surrounding states looking for a Pro.
Wanted Black, White, or Metallic Gray and wasn't willing to pay a markup without getting a premium for my trade in.
Finally found one in Dallas and snagged it for 64,500. This included the predator step, console safe, and cargo cover. I also got a 7 year 150k miles bumper to bumper warranty included. Window tint, that ZakTek crap, and Nitrogen in the tires.

Haven't taken delivery yet, but EDD is 2/10.

I only paid the premium because I got offered 69,000 for my Tesla Model Y Performance, which I paid 63,200 for when it was all said and done.
I had the Tesla since September and have already put 9,000 miles on it.

All in all, I think I did pretty good given the circumstances of today's market and supply shortage.

Well since you haven't taken delivery yet... I would keep looking for something at msrp. Plenty of people have got them at msrp dealers lately. Keep calling around, and regardless of your trade in value, put that extra money towards the purchase and not a markup or add ons. At $64.5k I think its still over priced by $8-10k.
    Just my 2 cents

I'm curious to hear why you made the switch from your Tesla to a 4Runner. The contrast between the 2 kind of hilarious.

Your profile says you have a white ORP. So did you get an ORP or a Pro?

Well you see, I wanted a 4runner anyways later down the road. With the way the market is, I was able to profit off of the Tesla and can just order another one.

I totally agree and have been doing just that. BUT, everywhere that says they would give me the truck for MSRP, said they'd also only give me 63-65k for the Tesla. So all in all. It kind of levels out.

Try carvana and vroom. If it’s close to the trade in you want print it out and have any dealer match it.

Yeah they only offered 62 and 63 respectively. That's why I took 69 from the dealer with the markup. it's almost as I didn't pay for it at that point. I also won't have to pay tax on the new vehicle since i'm trading in rather than selling to 3rd party. That's another 4k or so in savings right there.
