That’s saltwater isn’t it? Would imagine that would not rinse out.

Also, arent insurance supposed to cover “I did a stupid thing” moments? I mean really, if you get into an accident that is your fault, that will always involve some level of stupidity/negligence/ carelessness. I wonder where the line is. (Not volunteering to test that line)

I copied this pic from post #49 of this thread. Can anyone tell me where this is? Looks like a scene from Forest Gump. Anyway, I'd like to put this spot on my bucket list. Anyone know? OP?

Looks like westbound CA. 190 in Panamint Valley. Dead center is Panamint Springs. Death Valley is where they came from.
On the other side of those hills is CA. 395, Lone Pine and the Eastern Sierras.

Thanks guys, I'll try looking at these on Google Maps and see if I can zero in on it. I appreciate your help.

Finally took the "pavement princess" off road. Incredible how well these perform as stock trucks. I can only imagine the capability of the modified trucks I see hereInked4R_LI.jpg

I do like how easy it is to get to trails out west and how many there are. Back east it is harder to find them.

Yea around here you can drive 5 hours of road to a trail that takes 2 to run. We spent 10 days camping in Moab spending 8-10 hours a day, never hitting the same trail and stayed inside a hr radius of town

Maybe if you hit up Moab we can plan a group trip? Would like to go (when it is not 90+ degrees there).

Yea we will have to plan something for sure, started back to work this week so anything I do for the next little while will have to be weekend trips. Last month the wife, kids and I ran the mid Atlantic back country descovery route, then down to the great Smokey mountain jeep overland trip, then ran the northern border of Georgia through national forests and down through Alabama, hitting random trails along the way eventually landing on the beach in Florida, camped 20 nights, spent 2 in a cabin and 5 in a condo on the beach.

Nah, Panamint Valley is much more barren, and the range isn't that tall. I'm thinking this is Hwy 167, facing west towards 395 and the Sierra Crest. Mono Lake is just to left, out of picture.

You need to start checking out the OOAT in Arkansas. 13 Hours to St Loe from Clarksburg and you have a week's worth of trails with everything other than 8 + on the trail rating.
