    Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum. I am a first time 4Runner owner. I am looking for a leveling kit. My 4Runner is my everyday car, occasional off-roading in the summer season but nothing too crazy. I want to level my car just for the even look, not necessarily to get bigger tires. What would you recommend that won’t break the bank and will protect the integrity of the car? Any shops you would recommend in Colorado? :)

Welcome to the forum, a spacer lift might work for your needs but i would do a mild suspension lift. There are plenty of good shops in Colo. RSG is one, but i am sure some other members will chime in soon.

I would stay away from spacer lifts as they harshen the ride. Bilstine or Dobinsions may make leveling suspension kits.

Toytec would be a good shop to get in touch with too. They should guide you in the right direction. You Colorado folks have it good when it comes to off-road shops.

I have an SR5P. I did the 1" Cornfed spacer to the front only. I haven't noticed a harsher ride at all. Ride seems pretty much stock. FYI I have stock size KO2's. I noticed it helped with reducing the nosedive when braking and definitely now sits pretty level. Maybe a 1/2 lower in the front but that's what I wanted - a very slight rake.

Here's a good post about it.

TRD wheels, Firestone destination at 2’s, Bilstein 5100's .85
Bilstein 5100’s on the front set at .85 will give you 1” front lift and actually does prevent nose dive while braking. Your frame will be nice and level which is what you want.

I also have the Bilstein 5100’s with the front set at .85 and got 1” of front lift. The ride is firmer and more controlled and nosedive is no longer an issue.

I paid about $450 for the shocks and installed myself. I’m very happy with the set up. Following is an “after” pic so you can see the results….

    Cheers,
    Bob

    Your truck looks great Bob,

Question, is that side molding on the doors aftermarket? Paint looks like a perfect match.

That looks pretty level with a 1" lift or is it an illusion? Do you still have about a 1" rake?

If it’s a preload spacer I agree, if it just mounts on top of the top mount then it does not harshen the ride.

I have the same thing and it made a nice difference in looks. I went with 275 tires and I'm generally happy with the looks. I would still rather have 3" lift and 285/75's, but thats not the immediate plan with this 4R.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.

    Thanks,

Body side molding is from Sportwing (link below) and is a perfect color match. I put Sportwing molding on several of my vehicles and it always fits perfect with a perfect color match…

It’s almost level (very slight rake)…

Do they help with highway handling? Specifically when it is crazy windy? If so that's my next thing to do.

Thank everyone, this is so helpful! I will give Toytec a call tomorrow. I wish I could install myself and save some $ but I’m a 5”3 girl with no fancy power tools or knowledge on how to do it to be honest. I have done so much google/YouTube research. I never imagined being so into my 4Runner but I am enjoying it too much! I will post a picture to show you where I’m at as soon as I get it cleaned. Thank you so much for the support.
