I'm interested in wireless Android Auto. I have to see since my main Audio is USB and having to use the USB port for this is little inconvenient. I tried a USB hub with USB multimedia + wired android auto. They don't work together.

 

Same here! I know there's an Indiegogo company that made a similar dongle called AAWireless. Some have said it works great but I think I'd trust a name brand like Motorola (even though I think they just slap their name on it)

 

I ordered it as soon as it showed on Amazon. They say it should come in 1/29-2/1. Figured that was sooner than the indegogo route for carsifi or aawireless. I'll post back with what I think when it arrives.

Mine says it's arriving February 28th. It's strange that the actual listing has it as unavailable for new orders.

 

I think they get a stock estimate and sell out quickly. Maybe that is why it comes and goes.

So you guys with CarPlay/Android Auto in your stock decks - you can't connect to them via bluetooth? You need to hard plug your phones into the usb outlet for connectivity?

 

You can play music and make phone calls but you can't display your maps or phone apps on the main screen. I bought it to make it easier to use the apps and big screen navigation. Now I can keep the phone safe in the console and not need a mount for phone visibility.

 

I'm actually using this for my car so I can't comment on the 4Runner aspect of this. For my car yes, I have to have a cord from my phone to the car to use android auto. It's kinda annoying.

Motorola MA1 when it initially was offered on Amazon. I received it on 1/25. Unfortunately, I was out of town so I just set it up a few days ago.

I did get a 90 degree USB adapter so the MA1 tucks into the lower cubby nice and clean.

So far, I am very impressed. It takes about 30 seconds to negotiate with the 4runner on initial start and once it displays the android auto icon, it is good to go. Have used it for some music and Google maps so far.

Gonna order one for my wife when it's a available again
