The guys at Performance Off-road said that the AT2 was one of their most popular tires for weekend warrior types. I believe rain traction and snow traction were their weakest points. But, I've also heard that KO2's were garbage in the rain, and mine were fine.

The AT3 was supposed to improve wet and snow traction. So far, I've been very happy with mine. I've heard mostly very positive reviews from others, as well.

It seems that for every tire, there's going to be someone who hates it. Some of it could be based on expectations, as well.

There are a number of really great all terrain tires available right now. The all surely have strengths and weaknesses. None will be great at everything.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
I have a set of Toyo OC AT3's on my 99 4Runner, ABS is about the most traction control it has, and they run in snow like a dream. To ME. It's like the snow isn't even there. They grip like they have claws on 'em. Snow, packed snow, and melt-water on the road, all have given me no problems at all. I had to drive back and forth a half hour to the hospital, many times, at night, during the worst storm we've had this year so far. I was scared of sliding at first, but I kept the speed reasonable, like no higher than 45 on pavement, no higher than about 35 on fresh/packed snow, and I had no troubles at all. Even on a steep hill in my subdivision, all dirt/gravel unplowed roads. They walked right up the steep hill no trouble. Down as well. No sign of sliding, slipping, whatever. Great grip.

Just my experience so far this year.
    Good luck all!

Unfortunately, unless they've added them, 265 ATX are only available in SL or E load. If C had been available, I'd have gone that route.

Well at the tire shop, was 50/50 with wild peaks and KO2. KO2s were in stock and $200 cheaper. Getting them on now. Thanks for everyones suggestions

Here they are. On the drive home noticed my truck drove like butter and the tires were way quieter. Don’t know if thats because the KO2 is that much better of a tire, or my old tires were just that old, or a combination, but overall satisfied. Hope these tires are better in the long haul than the Toyos.

The OC AT3’s are MILES better than the AT2’s were. No comparison. I own these tires and they are absolutely perfect for my needs and perform great when wet for an AT tire. I also had KO2s and those were not fun in rain either. AT3 all day long. Don’t let the AT2 experience factor in….it’s not even the same ballpark

I have it somewhat narrowed down, but still looking for what works best in wet/rain conditions. My current tires are worn enough that I can break the back end loose without trying too hard. We don't get alot of snow compared to some of the places ya'll live, more ice storms than anything. In the summer if you're going anywhere near our Orange Clay you really need a M/T. I'm ok with a C-load and not too noisy.
