When do cars show up on the Toyota inventory website?

Is it when they start moving from the port to the dealer or...........?

 

From what I've seen while waiting on mine, it shows up on the inventory page of Toyota.com once it hits G (ground) status and is a day or two from the dealership.

What I have noticed is once the 4runner is at port it will show up on the website.

 

I think mine has supposedly been at the port for about 2 weeks and still hasn't shown up on the website.

 

Mine showed up on the website when it arrived at port and then went away a week or so later. The dealer said mine is in freight status right now so not sure what stage it leaves the Toyota website.

 

I think it depends on what website you're referring to. The dealership's website or Toyota.com inventory search? I think it will show up on the dealerships website once it hits port; however, from another thread I learned that they have the option to remove it if it is already spoken for. My dealership kept it on their site until I finalized the sale but it sounds like other dealerships will remove it once they have a deposit.

I'm 90% sure the Toyota.com inventory search is specifically only showing vehicles in G status though.

What is G status?

 

Ground. From what I've learned, it means it's very close to the dealership (like a day or two) on a truck.

 

Is freight status before ground?

 

Yes. It seems that the vehicles change from A (allocation) to F (freight) when they are finished being processed at the port. Then to G (ground) once they are very close to arriving at the dealership.

 

F seems to be pretty long. I think mine has been in F status for a while it seems like it. Dealer said that expected to be at dealer beginning of February.

 

Could never get the Toyota.com inventory tool to work for me. The search results won't update to reflect selected filters. Have tried tablets, laptops, Chrome, FF, Edge, VPN, no VPN - doesn't seem to matter. It always lists the same 90 models for our zip code and you can't move past page 1.

BTW, been stalking here for a bit as we put a deposit down on a '22 in Q4. Great resource - thanks everyone.

 

Yeah, it's pretty terrible but it seems to function most of the time on my desktop PC. I have also done some digging into the requests that happen behind the scenes when you press search, so I just queried it that way when I was stalking my incoming 4Runner.

 

I had to select my filters and then refresh the page and new results showed up. They have a bug in their filter code I would fix it if they would allow me to.

 

Weird in that it never showed up on the Toyota inventory site but just showed up this afternoon on the dealer website.

 

So the inventory on toyota.com is what is coming into the dealership? I was wondering what that was...I'm still waiting on mine to be allocated to the dealership (2022 TRD Pro) and according to the toyota inventory there are 18 coming to that particular dealership...which I find humorous because I've seen 1 pro show up on their website in over a month since I placed my deposit. I think it must be combined inventory with the sister dealership in Richmond. Either way I'm glad I found this thread that explains it a little. Hopefully mine with be allocated some time (he's telling me March now) ugh....

 

It seems that the Toyota.com inventory site typically shows results for a fairly large regional area based on the zip code you provide, not a specific dealership, or even city.

 

Oh ok, the option that I'm given allows me to choose a specific dealership....which I find it hard to believe that 1 dealership would get that many pro's (and I'm still having to wait on mine lol). Thanks!

 

You're right. It gives you the option to select a dealership so I decided to play around with it. The amount of pro's stays the same, split between 4 dealerships...which still seems like a lot of Pro's for a specific area....when I haven't seen one, especially the lime rush.

 

Oh, that's interesting. It seems to be a different page and makes a completely different request on the back-end if I search the Richmond (Virginia?) area as opposed to an area in the mid-west, so the results may not be consistent with my observations from snooping around in the mid-west.

 

Almost looks like it's 18 for the entire state of Virginia lol That would make more sense to me...I typed in all kinds of zip codes and it still came up with 18. Oh well. I'm guessing it will be closer to June when I see mine Will be a nice surprise...I'm gonna have to find a hobby that doesn't involve searching and stalking lol it's not helping my case or my patience

 

Ok, I was able to get to the same inventory page that I'm used to seeing, and looking at the request, it seems to be including 143 dealerships in the query and returning 18 results.

 

Also, just from following some of the other threads from people who have way more experience than me, if they don't have one allocated then they are just guessing on a timeframe.

 

Yeah that's what I gathered, now I just wish that I wouldn't have passed on the one last week. It was 2k more than the one I'm waiting on and I passed....ugh....at this rate, I'm never gonna get a 4runner haha

 

so if mine hit ground status as of now and it’s due on 2/16…does that mean I might get lucky and it will be here earlier?

 

How are you finding out it hit G status?

 

THere is an API you can hit to get some extra information on the vehicle.

 

Do you happen to now it?
