Im pretty sure Magnuson-Moss made it illegal for them to void your warranty for you doing your own maintenance. Just keep records.

If I remember correctly, that stuff did pretty well on project farms test. The Walmart stuff did good as well. I use the Walmart stuff in my old Volvo because it's a beater, and in my what are the Firebird because I don't put a lot of miles on it between changes.

Kirkland 5w30 in both GX and 4runner with oem oil filters. Been happy so far. It’s not rocket science. Just make sure to change it at the right mileage.

I like to read a little history ! :hattip:

Albert J. Amatuzio founded AMSOIL Inc. while serving as Squadron Commander of the Duluth, Minn.Air National Guard. Amatuzio was born May 6, 1924, to Italian immigrants in Duluth, Minn. Following high school in 1942, he attended Naval Air Corps training before the Navy closed the program. Amatuzio joined the Merchant Marine prior to joining the Air Force after World War II. He flew the F80 Shooting Star, America's first operational jet fighter. He returned to Duluth to run the family business after his mother had taken ill. In Duluth, Amatuzio joined the Air National Guard. During his fighter-pilot career, Amatuzio won the William Tell Air-to-Air Shootout Competition and the Earl T. Rick Competitive Shootout.

During his time as a pilot, Amatuzio began researching synthetic engine oils. Synthetic lubricants were used exclusively in jet engines due to the increased heat and stress of supersonic flight, and Amatuzio sought to apply the benefits of synthetic oil to automotive engines. He developed several different synthetic motor oil formulations and was commercially selling synthetic motor oil for automotive use by 1968. On May 23, 1969, he incorporated "Life-Lube, Inc.," through the Minnesota Department of State. By 1970, Amatuzio had renamed his company "AMZOIL," which he later changed to "AMSOIL."

In 1994, Amatuzio was inducted into the Lubricants World Hall of Fame.[3]

Amatuzio died on April 1, 2017.[4][5] Today, Amatuzio's son, Alan Amatuzio, serves as AMSOIL President & CEO.

I wonder why the move from Duluth MN to Superior WI ? 12 minute ride !

    Maybe new facility ?

Real estate costs a lot less over there. And they have a big, newer looking facility. I'm guessing it was just a lot cheaper to buy a big chunk of land.

Plus, they get a better view of Duluth

Royal Purple in both the 4Runner(0W-20) and the FJ(5W-30 HMX) and OEM filters for both. In the sand a lot so stick with 5k and always keep a guy eye on the air filter.

I ran Mobil 1 oil and filter on my 2007 Tacoma for many years. At 185k (bought it with 45k) insides looked pretty much new. Changed every 5k.

On my 4R, I went with Mobil 1 filters the first couple of oil changes. The last oil change I switched to OEM because I got in on that Amazon deal for the OEM filters right before Christmas. Mobil 1 oil but reading this I'm going to look into Kirkland oil next.

    Hey guys
I went to the dealer today and grabbed a 10 pack of filters. The part number for the filters should end in yzza5. However, I just opened one up and noticed that the filter is stamped yzza2. Are they interchangeable?

YZZA5 is the part number for the whole kit consisting of: oil filter/big gasket/little gasket/plastic drain tool. Each item in that kit has its own part number. The filter by itself is YZZA2.
