Yeah, I saw they replaced it with the "Canyon." I thought maybe they would still offer the extension, but I can see why they wouldn't.

Your bumper cuts look awesome. I’m curious, what did you do with your liner? Would you mind posting some photos from within the wheel well?

I cut the liners. In hindsight, I wish I had tried to reshape them to keep doing their job. I get a lot of dirt splashed into the engine compartment.

It looks like a battery will be my next "mod."

I've noticed the starter seems a little sluggish for awhile now. I finally took it to the auto parts store, and their tester called it a "bad battery."

I tested it myself today, just with a volt meter. I got 12.51 with no load, and it dropped to 11.58 with the headlights flipped on.

We tested the alternator yesterday, so I'm not concerned about that.

I was looking at the O'Reilly Super Start Platinum AGM. I thought I had read it was one of the better drop-in AGM replacements. Poking around on the internet, it sounds like the Diehard Platinum a GM is the same battery as well. Of course, I can't confirm any of that.

O'Reilly was trying to locate one of the Super Start Platinum AGM's for me, but I have not heard back from them yet. I just spoke with my local Advance Auto, and it sounds like they have the Die Hard in stock right now. I might take a ride up there and get it.

Yes. 70K miles and less than 3 years. I have read that Toyotas newer OEM batteries are pretty weak.

The Panasonic battery in my 2003 lasted something like ten years and 180,000 miles. They just don't make them like that anymore.

The starter definitely seemed more peppy after I installed it. :D Hopefully it serves me well.

I don't care about the extra CCA. A bad battery is a bad battery.

I've been wanting to switch to AGM for awhile now. My sluggish starter was enough to justify the upgrade for me. :)

Oh! Haha! Yeah, I suck at typing!

I wrote up each post ahead of time and when I started the thread, I just posted 1, 2, 3 in each post. Then I went back and edited each one, copied and pasted the text, and added pictures.

Come to think of it, it was pretty exhausting!''

Started as guitar, but works either way. Although, I'm not nearly as hardcore about either one as I once was. Seems all of my money and energy is being spent elsewhere. :D

That's awesome! Being close to NY, I wonder if he has any Carl Thompsons. They're some of the most unique and beautiful basses I've seen.

Most of mine are middle of the road or entry level instruments. But, the 6 string is a Warwick Thumb NT. It's a wonderful instrument that has actually improved with age. It's hard to believe it's 27 years old!

Is your buddy in a band? Now I'm curious.

Not sure of Carl Thompsons. It doesn't ring any bells off the top of my head. Yeah, your 6 string and fretless (?) on the right caught my eye first. Most 6 string bass guitars I see today have fanned frets.

He's in a bunch of bands, and is mostly a full-time musician with odd jobs to round out his income.
