There is just something about the 4runner that makes such a good traveling vehicle. Looks like you are enjoying it properly :)

I’ve driven mine cross-country several times from Florida to Colorado, from Colorado to Alabama, from Colorado to California.

It started life at some Podunk dealership in Hollywood Florida and I drove it to Hollywood California back in 2019.

I used to put like 20,000 miles a year, but now I don’t drive much because I work from home and I have a bunch of other cars and trucks so it has only like 120,000 miles on it for being a 2013 that I bought in February 2013.

So far I’ve only been with mines for a month and a half and just hit 6,000 miles i got it with 7 miles… I dont see myself going a different route unless i purchase a commuter, until then im sticking with my runner… well unless i decide to go 4x4 which will not be for atleast a year or 2

That’s funny…after I bought my 4runner, I happened to get a hand me down stickshift mazda from family. Wasnt planning on using it much, but once I saw the mileage piling up on my runner, I was glad to have that little beater to give the 4runner some relief….

That said, Ive skipped using the beater lately for mundane work travel…because that dang 4runner just calls me.

Kinda like we are our own dog taking ourselves out for a drive lol

It’s weird that all this time Ive imagined wanting a sports car or something for fun-driving. This’ll do…even though its a different automotive universe from a sports car.

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and I don't own a 4Runner.
Last year in November I made the same mistake as you, just not as bad

I bought a Tacoma TRD Sport Premium, fully loaded, 4x4, MGM(Love the colour)., and most importantly it was the last M/T(Manual Transmission) in town.
All was great until I started wheeling, and even then I've done some pretty steep hardliners.
I realized I had a problem when, I've learned about lockers and crawl control.
So, I ordered a Tacoma TRD Pro M/T.
Unfortunately they don't know when or if 9ne will be available, but, they allocated them a 4Runner TRD PRO.
So I decided to buy a matching purse, and start driving an A/T.
Pros on the 4Runner vs taco
    Made in Japan.
    4.0L engine
    Better resale value
    C9ns.
    Not a M/T
    Not a pickup truck

    Back yo this conversation.
If you do start wheeling, you will get pinstripes, scratch the rims, body damage, etc, which will hurt the resale value.

Stop putting good money after bad money and trade it in ASAP.
And, if you can't afford the difference, and, is spacious enough, consider a Tacoma TRD OFF ROAD.,
I love my Tacoma, but I wanna do harder trails.. And, apples to apples it's about 10kcheaper then the 4RUNNER. Get it tuned with KDMax if A/T or Coyoza if M/T and Bob's your uncle. Use the 10 k to get a lift, tires, sliders, winch, etc...

Im in Canada, so your prices might differ.
And,oif the 4Runner is what you want, find a way to trade it in, not sure how's down there but here you can easily get 5-10k on a new vehicle (with the right trim(TRD OFFROAD/PRO) over the sticker price.
You might get close to if not all what you paid for.. even with a full limited slip diff you'll have difficulties wheeling, and I assume that you'd wanna keep your truck a few years, most people do.

    Just my 0.02.
By the way, I do Custom Performance Tuning for a living, and, I've stopped counting how many vehicles I've owned after I've reached 200.
    Should be around 230-240 now.

The trade in value should be great on the runner the thing is my credit im a new buyer.. ive always purchase vehicles cash untill this runner so in order for me to trade it in ill have to wait a few months so I’ll just wait it out for a Year… im not doing crazy trails just flats nothing rocky just for the fact of the body damage..
