The 6.0 is good, too. Not sure which years it ran, but my brother drove an '03 Silverado for 500k miles.

Mine will get fluid filmed next month, and they provide a salt eliminator service at the place. So I will have that done a few times a year along with new fluid film and what happens happens. These are too much fun in the snow not to drive it.

Does salt eliminator mean they'll rinse it off with a hose?

No, it is a foam bath that is designed to get in all the cracks and neutralize the salt. https://www.krown.com/en/other-services/ Could I get down and do it myself? Yes, would I be taking Tylenol and pain meds for three days after due to my back? Also yes. I am at the point where I am ok paying someone to do something I can do myself simply because I choose not to be the one on the concrete floor in the winter.
