Toyota wants about $3300 to replace my XREAS suspension. Looking to remove it and replace it with conventional equip., possibly Bilstein 5100s. I am a full time traveler, pulling a small fiberglass trailer (Casita). The rear end of my 4 runner sags a little and am considering adding air bags. I would also like to raise my 4 runner a bit....possibly two inches. I found a garage in Tucson who will do the work, but I have to show up with all the necessary parts. I want to avoid any complications. I would appreciate any advise on this. Thanks.

With the insane resale value of these rigs you might take a smaller loss just simply trading it in or selling it then buying one without XREAS.

I have an 11 Limited which also had the xreas shocks leak. I installed a 3" Toytec lift (by myself in about 8 hours) added new rims and tires for less than I was quoted by Toyota. The ride is much better with the lift. Here is a picture. 551dab1af8648578e8b0dc68c887fec3_c1a1b53cb714e9bd03a9a4e811858b74c23f5846.jpg

Bilsteins and FJ Coils is what a lot of us 4th gen guys did to start off. Pulling the X-Reas isn't too hard, it's just the lines and the resevoirs, which I've seen people even just tie up and leave there.
