The brakes have felt weird on both of my last 2 4runners. They work fine, but seem to require a lot of pedal travel.

Have you had the brake fluid flushed? It can absorb water over time.

    In no discernible way.

    PS fluid is also hygroscopic.

    Any diesel options ? I just picked up a 2022 pro does seem a little under powered , I have not had 4runner since 2017 , when I up graded to a 2018 LC 200 and V8 power , now have a 2020 LC 200 passes everything but a gas station .
Over the summer I picked up a Diesel wrangler , love the power of the diesel and pretty good MPG

No. Every 4Runner has the same engine. If you want a V8, you have to buy a GX.

It's a bit late to be asking what your drivetrain options are, isn't it? :p

So after the dealer did the service is gradually been getting better and better, it’s now acceptable even the brakes are just a little bit firmer but they still have about an inch before they engage. The last owner was an old man so maybe the computer needed just to learn how I drive and at a different elevation. The pedal commander is very useful I’d highly recommend that or other brands that do the same thing I don’t feel like i’m going to get in an accident now.

A little thing to keep an eye on, tire pressure. A few pounds can sometimes suck a noticable amount of power.
I begin to notice it when I'm down about 4psi. Or about when it hits 30psi.

Wait till the next gen 4Runners are released? Especially if you are considering a $7k upgrade.

I have a Gen 4 6.0L in my 80 with a 6 speed. Took a little bit to fit it but GM makes fine engines and transmissions. GM everything else is a different story.

Everything is expensive now. Diff guys rip you off. Installed 2200 + for yukon, for nitro its 3500+. I was going to install 4.56 myself to complement the SC. I have done a few and its not hard.

I would say there is a lack of power at all elevations.
