I own a 2011 grey SR5 that I’ve been building. I’ll post pics soon. I can’t seem to find but literally 1 or 2 that have the 4Runner lifestyle trd pro grille or the alpha Rex headlights. I’ve even contacted the companies and they tell me to look on social media??? Why wouldn’t the companies that make these have multiple examples of their product on different rigs?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m guessing this forum doesn’t have much activity. Is there another 4Runner forum community that is more active?

    Whats your question?
Do you want to see what it looks like, review of the product, install vids?
Ive seen multiple companies make the TRD grill and they all look like the factory one but cost $300 less.
Ive seen the AlphaRex and Morimoto lights, both black and chrome, front and rear. Both look good. I havent decided which one I am going to do yet( not on the top of my list yet...).
There are a good few number of forums out there.
    I like Trail 4Runner - 5th Gen 4Runner Blog & Forum - Trail4R.com
Lots of good reviews and tons of different rigs to give you an idea/ inspiration for your next project...

Yes, I want to see what the alpharex and 4Runner lifestyle trd grille look like installed. There are millions of images and videos of the newer 5th gen with grilles and headlights. But can’t find the 10-13

39884A94-FF49-40DA-AA4D-89114C322F5B.jpgThis is all I found in the headlights but that really doesn’t give me a good look. Looking for different angles maybe a video? Someone has to have these installed.

There is obviously not as many options for the early 5th gens as they weren’t made as long but the grille looks good off the rig but what does it look like on the rig? That’s the question.

I guess I’ll keep searching Instagram but I haven’t found much so far.

I’m currently running lasfit LED’s in my OEM headlights and I’m blinding oncoming traffic. I love that I can see great now but the headlights would be “functional” if they were putting out the same lighting without pissing everyone else off. . Of course they need to look good and that’s what this post is all about. I think it’s personal preference and what an individual has set aside for modification budget. I’ve already spent thousands on functional mods tires/lift/bags/roof rack. The cost of these two mods would be minimal so that’s not a factor in this decision.
I’m beginning to think that most of the 4Runner people who are modifying aren’t really the type that spend much time on these forums. I see a whole lot of modified runners locally and haven’t seen them in the forums. Just an observation.

Sorry, I actually realized that comment sounded way more judgy than I meant it to, and deleted it. I guess I was a little late, haha.

Are you a member of any of the FB groups? There are tons of 4R groups on FB, one is even called 4Runner Mods, or something to that effect. I see plenty folks on this board and in those groups talk about modding, though suspension and tires/wheels or overlanding gear are the more popular topics. I think folks that aren't interested in modding aren't on any of these groups, period.

Oh, and I forgot to say, your 4R looks great!

No offense taken. No worries. I am one of the old school guys that doesn’t get their feelings hurt and actually likes to hear other people’s opinions even if they don’t line up with my own.

Don’t have a Facebook. Primarily because it would get me in trouble….. but that’s another topic!!

Having taken my front end off multiple times now. That above front conversion doesn't look that difficult.

I am aware of the front end swap. There is actually a great video on YouTube that shows detailed instructions on how to update to the current front end. The issue with that is I don’t care for the newer front end. I like the boxy look of the model I have, that why I purchased it.

Love your set up, clean and simple. I have a 2013 that I just bought TRD pro wheels for (Black) and I am looking at the dobinson set up for suspenison. What size lift do you have an I think you're running Bilsteins from the shinny silver I can see? Thanks for any info.

Thanks, actually I’m running the Rough Country 3 inch lift. I purchased the kit that replaces the struts and shocks as well. It’s about double the price of the basic 3inch but they said it was worth it for the ride quality and so far I have zero complaints. The ride quality is better than stock. I am also running air ride helper bags in rear and keep them at 8psi. Don’t really know if that makes a difference or not.

Right on man that looks great and at a great height! Ill be a little lower than you're as I am avoiding UCA initially due to $$. But your stance looks great and those wheels look solid. what about Pro's and con's of your roof rack? I have been a big fan of the GOBI stealth for years but never owned one. I know their lead times are long but I love the basket look with the "just toss stuff up" functionality. But it is also $$

I think with the roof rack it’s personal preference. I love the Prinsu as I can literally strap ANYTHING DOWN. Basket style may not be as easy. (Think lumber) I can place a stack of 2x4’s on top and strap down no issues. Basket you may not have all the support and stability (depending on size of basket) also consider wind noise. I didn’t notice any difference after installation. I hear the baskets can be noticeable. Just my .02

That is a great point man! the lumber alone would make that prinsu rack worth it for sure. Also great info about the wind noise, i have heard the gobi has some but I havent heard from anyone outside of the honeymoon phase yet lol.

Just in case someone else was wondering I found this rig on Instagram. Has the AlphaRex and the 4Runner lifestyle grille. Any thoughts? I can’t really decide what I think. Im thinking I like the grille without the raptor lights and not really liking the headlights. What are you guys thoughts? 46A0EF3D-DDCF-4C2D-B677-D835C9C2C558.jpg

Yes, just a couple of screws. But there would be holes that might look a little funky. 6F12A1C0-15D8-42A5-BCCA-DFE82BFD27D7.jpg
