About time Hot Wheels 5th Gen 4Runner

When I check it was $56. Waiting to see them at Target or Walmart at regular price.

 

Awesome! I need one in MGM.

Hopefully they become available at a sane price.

 

I guess I won't waste my time searching the web for one.

 

Picked up one of these this week too!

 

Where'd you pick one of these up from and how much? Did it have Toyota mark up too ?

 

It DID have the Toyota markup. I found it on Mercari. With shipping and all it was right under $30.

 

Right now only eGhey or Mercari for a 500% markup.

 

^^ Sounds about right. Maybe I'll call Mattel to place an order and wait for a 6-8 months delivery.

Cool. This look like 295s on off road wheels with spacers.

I cant be spending more money to buy this, and make my runner look exactly like the hotwheels version. I’ll pretend I never saw this.

 

Thinking about stopping by a Game Stop type place and buying some gray paint and tiny paintbrushes.

 

haha..I know I'm trying to figure out how to paint this thing gray too.

 

I wonder if touch up paint would do the trick?

Lord knows I could use some...

 

There are YouTube tutorials on how to disassemble and paint hot wheels.

You will need aerosol paint stripper and metal surface spray paint.

 

Yep, stripping/spraying is pretty straightforward, problem I have is how to repaint or mask the other details - head/tail lights, window trim, etc.

 

I would probably use paint markers for Japanese robot kits (gunpla).

My older daughter used to be very good at stuff like this when she was a teenager.

 

I dunno what's more cooler: the Hot Wheels 4Runner or my Funko Pop Mickey Rourke

Friend of mine found one at a local Walmart. You might visit a few in your area.

 

I gave up on Walmart after several trips and started bidding on eBay.

Update: Got lucky and scored one at my local Walmart! The aisle was almost stripped but there is was sitting alone on a peg.

 

For y’all’s information, the back window is halfway down! Got mine on eBay for $20 and free shipping.

 

Hope that window gets rolled back up before the next gravel road.

 

The black and yellow plates are a nice touch.

 

Mine is currently stripped waiting for new paint, wheels, and a lift..lol.

Check out this guys Instagram he takes hot wheels and matchbox cars and customizes them to look like peoples rigs. He has a 4Runner but it’s not completed yet.
