Wanted to see if anyone has swapped the trac bar for an adjustable/extended one and extended rear sway bar links after doing a 3/2 lift. Besides restoring articulation for offroading, is there benefits for daily driving ?

I have Dobinsons adjustables for all 5 links in the rear... Does it necessarily benefit your daily driving? Eh, to me in and of itself not really. What having the adjustability does is allow you to get the proper suspension geometry again so your suspension cycles up/down and left/right like its supposed to, giving you that good articulation off road and also proper tracking on road. Having the adjustability lets you correct for the extra lift distance. Couple that with probably (maybe) a Panhard Correct Kit from Eimkeith and you're totally set.

I did the trac bar same time just because. Didn't want to deal with maybe needing it later.

I couldn't tell you if it made any difference I didn't drive lifted without it.

Can anybody enlighten me, which is the trac bar? Same as the drag links? I get my vocab confused.

Panhard is the one that goes across from frame to axle to locate the side to side movement, correct?

What about those two thinner, shorter links above the axle?(not the swaybar links).

I hadnt thought about how articulation is limited with a lift. I have a dobs lift that essentially comes in at 3/2. I wonder how much Im losing?

Track bar is the same as a panhard rod. It locates the axle left and right. Runs from body/frame to axle. if you raise the vehicle a lot you can actually relocate the axle to the left or right of center. usually you need a slightly longer to maintain center. Think of a hypotenuse of a triangle.

Did you change swaybar links as well ? Ill be looking into OCD's forged ball joint links front and back if anyone can convince me that there well spent $$$. Which brand did you go with for the trac bar ?

I did it more for keeping everything centered as I don't Off Road much. I did not change the swaybar end links or I didn't buy new ones. I'm going to assume my guy didn't change them voluntarily on his $.

    All my suspension is Icon.

I also did my front and rear sway bar links with OCDs heim joints. Frankly I think I grabbed them right before he came out with the forged link, otherwise I'd have gotten those. Do I notice a difference? Not exactly. But it is a good piece of mind work to do. And again when you lift having the adjustability is key.

As far as options there are many: Dobinsons, Total Chaos, Ironman4x4, Icon, MetalTech. Take your pick they're all well known reputable names

Thanks, doesnt seem like there's no benefits as daily driving so Ill probably just wait till the links blow and swap everything all the same time.
