Got my TRD offroad wheelsback from the powder coater

Does the powder coat collect more dust than usual or is that just a. False rumor I’ve heard

 

Probably depends where you live and how often you wash your rig. Here in KC I've had no dust issues, just finished a 2-3 week span without washing because I've been too busy. Rig was filthy but the wheels were fine.

The powder coater was able to paint the caps for me, I rattle canned the badges though with OEM color matched paint to cavalry blue.

 

Very cool. Just picked up a set of ORP take offs with plan to powder coat same or similar color to match "C" pillar badges and front and rear silver valances on my new '22 ORP. Thinking it would be different from the typical black out approach and might look good. I'm "in process".

I got mine from Wheelers Off Road in 2019. Don't quote me on this, but I thought I read that they were since bought out and now have horrible customer service. I really hope that's not the case as I had a great experience with them.

there are OEM black lugs available.

 

Yeah, trying to find matte black lug nuts. Getting my OEM ORP wheels powder coated matte black and was hoping to find lugs that match. I believe the OEM lugs are glossy.

Just got my ORP wheels back from the powder coater. They are Black Jack (semigloss) with Super White logos to match the truck's body color.
I did notice a small chip in the powder coating where the valve stem opening is and am wondering if that's normal. I believe they have to put something in that opening so the threads aren't fouled by the powder coat. Did you guys notice that as well???

Examined the wheels in greater detail and found that what I initially thought was a chip is actually a small steel punch mark on each valve stem opening. Thinking it was to loosen whatever device it was that they used protect the valve stem threads.
