Bought my 22 Super white ORP yesterday at MSRP. Traded in my ‘04 SR5 (Just didn’t have it in me to go through a private sale). Ordered through the dealer 9/2. Dealer let me know on 9/21 that his inventory manager got it and was on a boat. I figured it was exactly what I ordered since I thought I was giving him my specific build requirements. When I saw “my” runner in person and the spec sheet, there was about $1,000 price difference to which I figured out that there were specific running boards that I didn’t order as well as the premium package (soft Tex and multi terrain monitor) that I definitely didn’t order or want. Besides the soft tex which the ORP comes with anyways. Long story short, I realized that it wasn’t as custom as I thought and in some downtime at the dealership, found out how the process really works. Of course they wouldn’t take any of that off the price even though I didn’t order it that way. I couldn’t let this one go and knew someone else would snatch it up in a second so I of course bought it.
Now I just have to go back for them to remove the black dealer added stripe down the side and get the TRD rims.

I had to stop at my local dealer in central NJ to pick-up some oil from the parts department. They had 9 4R's in stock. 3 Limited's, 1 TRD Trail, 1 TRD Sport, 3 SR5 premium's, 1 TRD Pro (in Lime). On the show room floor, they had a Barcelona Red SR5 premium (Moonroof, 3rd row seat, premium plus package, TRD black wheels, cross bars and running boards) with an MSRP of $47,923.00. They are selling at $1,000 over MSRP.

I wouldnt say they worked with me. No dealer stood out as helpful honestly, and I think it was because of the market and because they didnt have any sellable 4Runners in stock, so they didnt want to waste their time with me. The one that sold me my 4Runner had it right off the truck and I sped down there and bought it immediately.

This question goes out to all the people who placed deposits down and received a 4Runner for MY21/22. How long did it take to receive the truck after placing your deposit? How long did the dealer estimate it would take vs. how long you actually waited?

I’m coming up on 4 weeks since I put my deposit down. My dealer didn’t give me an estimate, but the contract I signed was for 2 months. If one doesn’t come in in 2 months, I get my deposit back or I keep waiting. My dealer keeps me posted every week or two with the latest allocation. I’m waiting for a LR ORP. An MGM ORP is coming in the next allocation, but my wife is holding out for LR, so we’ll keep waiting.

I’m 8 weeks in since making a deposit and still no allocation. A couple weeks ago I got excited because the dealers website showed the exact spec I was looking for but apparently that one was already sold to another customer. My salesman said the get new allocations every couple weeks, so hopefully it will be in the next couple. I was originally told 3-6 months.

I put my $1000 deposit down for a ‘21 Lunar Rock Pro at the very beginning of August. I had a VIN immediately as it was on its way in. It’s been stuck at the LA port and Toyota will
No longer allow me to wait for it- they’ve moved my deposit to a ‘22. The dealership has no allocations incoming for a pro so is now “placing an order” on my behalf for a ‘22 lime rush pro. Sigh- the waiting begins again haha.

We ordered a '22 4runner limited with the 3rd row in Sept. Allocation and VIN took 1 week. Truck was built on 9/28. Arrived in the Newark port 11/6. Went into freight status 11/10. We're just waiting for the date of arrival at the dealership in MA. Hopefully no more than 1 or 2 weeks longer.

Highly recommend our dealer if you are in the Boston area...They were super informative and they are selling everything at MSRP (Though most orders now are 3-6 months out).

I guess I got lucky. I went to a dealer, put a $500 deposit, and was told that the exact unit I am looking for is currently on the way to their dealership. That was on a Tuesday. The next Monday, got an email saying that the unit just got off the truck. Picked up the suv a couple of days later with 1 mile on it.

I'll document my experience as well. Put in a custom order for a 22 TRD offroad on 11/09/2021. M$RP 47,417

$500 deposit and 4-6 months wait.

    Asking for:
    KDSS
    Premium Sound
    Black chrome TRD custom exhaust
    dash camera
    USB port/charge kit
    rock sliders
Blackout emblem overlays (kind of regret since I'm planning to swap badges to match the 22 TRD Pro look. Faux Pro?)

*If anyone ends up with a '22 TRD Pro and swaps their Fox suspension out and is looking to sell... hit me up!

To update my own post, I put my deposit in the beginning of October. Was told 4 to 6 months for army green, picked it up last weekend super stoked!

Trdorp, no kdss, has the premium tech package so mtm, blind spot etc. Paid msrp which was 47k

After searching for an in-stock Nautical Blue ORP all over the place, I finally decided to go for a Pro that already built (and selling at MSRP!) and on the ship.

I put a $500 deposit down Monday morning (15 Nov). It is due to the port on 01 Dec. We shall see how long the trek from Port to Virginia will take.

    None yet!
I began shopping in April, placed an allocation request in June for a 2021 Venture, and then was told in August they were going to stop producing Ventures. Switched up my order to a Pro at that time, and was notified in October that I was allocated a 2022 Pro. It arrived 2 weeks later, pic below. I'm getting that roof rack swapped out ASAP for one that's actually useful and lower profile.

I was on a waiting list for a couple months at Salinas Toyota.
Got a call on 11/3 that a TRD Pro was to be delivered between 11/15-11/20.
    It arrived 11/18.
    It’s now in my driveway.

Awesome! Did you get the Premium Plus package? If so, is that a front camera I see for the MTM?

Yup, requested the premium plus package because I liked the cameras for off roading.
Yes, the camera is there on the front.

MY21 on the east coast here. Chose from a list of allocations for the dealership and the VIN I was given was temporary. Put $500 down on 7/18 and was told end of August to mid September. Build date was 7/30, arrived in port (NY) on 9/5, received by and picked up at dealership on 9/25.

Ugh. I paid WAYYYYY too much. $60k for a 2021 venture. Only 4x4 in San Diego at the time. Legit ONE. Not thrilled on the price, but yes, I would do it again

Here is my experience so far...called John Elway Crown Toyota (11/06/21) on a MGM TRD ORP that was in-transit. Turns out it was already "reserved"/had a deposit on it. The sales guy tells me they have 22' LR TRD ORP on allocation which is about to be loaded on a ship and headed for the port. Drove down same day to put a $500 deposit down on it and is estimating a delivery of the 1st-2nd week of Dec. *Crossing my fingers* all goes to plan and I accidentally stumbled across exactly what I wanted.

    22 TRD ORP LR; M$RP 46,262.00
    Options:
    - $750 Keep It Wild Savings
    - $500 mail-in rebate for recent graduate
    Door Edge Guards
    Exhaust Tip - Chrome
    Moonroof
Predator Tube Steps (Not a fan of these...)

Glad to hear some of you are having lucky with your Toyota Dealers...I've been trying since June to score a Pro with "ZERO" luck...
Is it really that location within the US dependent?? I'm here on the East coast and its always to same story when talking to Dealers around MD. Still hoping for my Christmas miracle.

Ordered a 22 SR5 Premium Plus, Red with Blacked out Everything, 3rd row seat, on 26 Nov. Rig was being offed from a ship in NY and should be here in ME on/about 7 Dec. Fingers Crossed
    MSRP 48,500
    -750 “Wild deal”
-1000 Mil Service and Recent grad
    10/150k mile warranty through dealership
22,000 trade in on 17 Ford Edge

I view 24,750 as a pretty decent deal for this rig. At least it shouldn’t have randomly exploding windows or electrical issues so bad that a simple trip to the store doesn’t turn into unscheduled adventure.

    $?!& Fords.

Well, I still have a lime rush pro with my name on it but the dealership is being a little less than up front about the pricing info. I’ve been waiting for close to a week for my guy to “check on” the market adjustment. There’s a chance they may add $15k on top of the already high price of the pro. That makes it close to $80k. I will walk away from the deal if that happens, and probably end up leaving the Toyota family for now. The only dealership near me selling at msrp has a waitlist of 18 months and 100 people deep for a pro. My current lease is up in 3 months. Cross your fingers for me guys lol. I hope to hear back from the dealership soon.
