Sorry in advance as I’m sure these issues have been asked before. Just recently purchased a 2022 Off Road Premium with KDSS. Shortly after that I put on Bilstein 5100 on the front which is set at 2.5” with stock spring and on the back Bilstein 5100 with 1.5” bilstein spring. I initially put on TRD Pro replicas with 275 70 17 Falkens. Short story long, got the steering wheel shimmy and had the wheels rebalanced total of 5 times. Shop replaced two of the replicas and after taking it to another shop they told me 3 of the rims were warped. Returned everything and today I put on OEM TRD Pro Rims and with 265 70 17 KO2. Shimmy went away in the steering wheel but I feel a different shake around 40-45mph, above that its fine. I get with the suspension my ride would be stiff but now I’m not sure if its my rims/tires or maybe something to do with the suspension. Not sure what to do next??

Sounds like it still could be a balancing issue. Our trucks are very sensitive to this. Was it road force balanced? If not, that could help dial it in.

Another option to consider is alignment. Have you had it aligned since replacing the suspension? If so, do you know what they set the caster to?

New as well. I have a 2016 ,5th gen with a TOYtec 3'' lift. when I bought and had the lift put on, I didn't go with new UCAs. Im going purchase JBA's to put on. My question is....Do I need to get an alignment done after?

what psi are you running the KO2’s at? When I had them anything over 38psi would cause a lot of bouncing and steering wheel wobbles.

It wasn’t road force balanced. I would need to check where could do that for me. I had it aligned after suspension installation and the first set of rims/tires.

Today I tried at 35 and 38. Still between 35-35ish I feel it in the seat. Not in the steering wheel anymore.

    Welcome to the forum!

Always. Any modifications to the front suspension will require an alignment.

    Welcome to the forum!

Do you have the alignment specs? They should have given you a sheet showing the before and after numbers.

Is it a rumbling sound? There have been issues with the front differential needle bearing. It's usually most noticeable around 30 MPH.

To check, put it in 4HI while going straight at around 30 MPH and see it the noise and vibration stop. If it does, and then returns when you switch back to 2wd, it's probably the needle bearing.

The dealer should replace the front differential if that is determined to be the problem.

As far as I've seen Toytec is a really good lift. Congrats..

Here in CO I see many using SPC uca with Toytec lift. Go with which ever UCA your 4x4 shop recommends.

You need alignment check any time you touch your suspension and check alignment every year if possible if you are wheeling.

I also went for the retorque inspection after 500 miles after lift install. It was free at my 4x4shop (for any lift).

This is a very good idea! Did they also re-check the alignment?

No bro. (Atleast as far as I know they did not.)

I guess it might be a good idea to pay extra for alignment check when the lift settles.

It's still nice of them to check everything. I had mine realigned a few months after the lift, but mostly because I wasn't happy with the results of the original alignment.

I think an alignment is usually not too expensive. It's definitely worth checking, especially if it helps your tires last longer. It seems that rubber has been getting more expensive lately.

I pay $100 for alignment at Toytec.

Before I started going to Toytec I think I paid 70-80 at BrakePlus and Les Scwab.

Yeah I too heard tires are getting pricey and having delays in delivery.

A friend of mine mentioned earlier that he was paying $330 apiece for some performance street tires. I was curious, so I checked and saw that my Yokohamas are now $340 apiece. They were $242 in January. o_O

I recommend getting a lifetime alignment at a reputable shop.

Mine was something close to $300 I think.

When you're making suspension / wheel / tire mods and trying to alleviate rubbing, I think it's well worth it.

I'm at 60,000 miles and it's already paid for itself.

Same can be said for tire rotation and balance. Since our trucks are so sensitive to it, its worth the extra price to get the lifetime balance at a shop that does a road for balance.
