I’ve had my 2021 Barcelona red SR5 for less than a year and the paint literally flies off the thing, every time I turn around there’s a new chip, same roads, same parking as my 05’which has hardly any chips, even a fingernail scratch will do it, Do I have to live with it or is there something flawed with this paint job?I keep my 4 runners forever but at this rate I’m gonna be going broke on touch up paint.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Not sure about "flawed" paint, but, there is paint threads in the 'search' part of the forum.... Good Luck.

Mine does it too. Probably something you just have to live with. Paint is SUPER thin. I have classic silver.

I just had my Barcelona Red ceramic coated, hoping that helps. Not sure if it really is more fragile than my previous ones or if the flaws just show up more on this color.

Where are most of your chips at? I am thinking of getting Xpel out on entire front end this spring and also the rear bumper

    All of them.
Toyota has always been known to have thinner/ weaker paint it’s just something you learn and unfortunately have to deal with. Super white and I think regular black (not the midnight black) are single coat and have had recalls in the past. I think currently blizzard pearl has a recall but I could be wrong on that one. Our Barcelona has been flawless. The midnight black 4R we had wrapped because the paint got chewed up on a trail but even before that it chipped very easily.
