Sounds like your friend needs to make up some signs and stand in front of this dealership, telling everyone just how big of a rip off this dealership is.

SCAMMING Dealership = Sheehy Toyota in Fredericksburg VA lied to me. I inquired about a TRD Pro that is on their allocation to receive in a few weeks. It was available, and I asked specifically "do you sell at MSRP and without any add-on packages?". I was told, "absolutely. We do Not do any market adjustments or add-ons".

I was waiting for a call to take my info for a deposit, and that came this morning... it was a different person, however, so I asked again, "so the price is simply MSRP plus tax/tags/title fees and nothing else, correct?". The response was "no market adjustments, but we do require you to purchase a "Resistall" treatment. It protects your paint and leather". "Ummmm well there's no leather, but I'll consider it.. how much?" "$2000. I politely told him that , "#1. I don't do business with liars, and #2, I will NOT do business with gougers" and hung up.

Resistall is a scam to begin with and the prices I have seen are in the $500 - $700 range... so it's no different than a markup.

my search keeps turning up gougers... Priority Toyota in Springfield VA and Gatorland Toyota in Gainesville FL. both add-on packages AND a market adjustment (varies by trim package, but they said that ALL vehicles get the added "market adjustment").

Unfortunately Wyler Toyota in Indiana is now adding a $2500 market adjustment. You can remove them from the list while my hunt for a ORP continues. :(

Just picked up my SR5P from Larson Toyota of Tacoma (WA) at MSRP with no markup. The sales manager mentioned that it was a little strange that it was listed at MSRP, usually there is some markup, but he let the price stand. May have been my lucky day.

In my search, I also worked with Michaels Toyota of Bellevue, who stated that they were a no-markup dealership. They had no available trucks though, and lead time was 3-4 months.

I have been communicating via email with Wyler in Clarksville Indiana too and the MSRP question has gone unanswered so I have moved on. I have since found another dealer (in Ohio) that looks promising and I will post the specifics to this thread if it works out. Don’t want to recommend until I’m sure they are solid.

Yeah.. this is the issue. The dealers that are NOT marking up have a waiting list for vehicles not even shipped from Japan yet.

Koons Toyota with six dealerships in Maryland and Northern Virginia show 97 4R's on their website with six Pro's. They show four Lime Rush's with a range of $73,335 - $77,963 and two unknown colors (B, W or MGM) with a range of $65,418 - $65,578. I would be surprised if they actually had ten unclaimed 4R's onsite between their six dealerships.

Jeez! I now feel like I stole my 21 LR Pro for $2,000 above MSRP in May ($54,000 total)!

I’m a bit surprised the dealer installed 285s on the stock TRD rim considering a 285 should really be on a 7.5” minimum. Liability issues and all.

I remember when the local mazda dealer wouldn’t sell me 17” winter rims for my CX5 GT because it came with 19”s.

Unless that was just their personal policy.

I almost waited for a 2022 before I even knew the color of the new Pro. Glad I was able to secure my lunar '21 for msrp. Sheesh things are all over the place right now and dealers are getting even more greedy.

Camelback Toyota in phx is NOT msrp. Just spoke with a sales rep who said $10k over msrp plus $1300 in adds

I can confirm Salinas Toyota sells at MSRP.
Only add ons were floor mats and cargo cover.
Had a dead simple buying experience with them.
Jasmine was awesome, made everything easy considering I live almost 300 miles from the dealer.
Drove my 2022 TRD Pro home last night!

Congrats on the new car - I'm actually waiting on a Lime Rush Pro to be delivered in TN at an MSRP dealership - I live in Colorado and my local dealerships are crazy - will not even do my services with them
Will fly to Nashville for $200 (wife and me) - and take a nice road trip back - even with gas, food, hotels, save thousands from the $12.5K "Market Adjustment".

Question: Is there a way to get that list on the first page of this thread updated with additions to the MSRP dealerships as well as the "Wall of Shame " list? It would be nice to be able to refer to it for anybody that is contemplating a new car.

Feel free to add Camelback to the list of Shame. Although they will let you negotiate the markup. Isn't that nice?

I've been dealing with Jazmin as well. I've changed things up a bit, so I'm currently hoping she can get me into a rav4 hybrid.

Coming from someone who just picked up a Pro at MSRP… I will say, dealers have less inventory - they’ve gotta make up for it somehow right?

    Still shopping....Damn the shortages
Commence mod sequence in 4--3--2--1.... Broke! We have bankruptcy!
Moderators/OP can decide if this is wall of shame worthy, but it certainly is in my book. Atlanta Toyota is putting minimum $5K markup (ok, $4995 BS protection add-on), on even an SR5 4x2. I'm looking for an ORP anyway and we bought our RAV4 there a few years ago, but when I asked about eliminating or reducing it, they looked at me like "You and that MSRP nonsense can walk out now, or we'll have Little Tony and Guido show you to the dumpster...." I mean he looked at me like I personally insulted his grandmother, because a returning customer dared to insinuate his magic coatings weren't worth $5000 of my hard-earned money.

Yes. Many dealerships have become thugs and mongrels. Research shows that nitrogen does have some benefit but what about airing down on the trail. Ceramic coating and tint have benefits as well but not at those gouging prices.
    Sheesh.
Caveat Emptor is the order of the day.

I bought at MSRP from Gettel Toyota at Lakeside in Bradenton, Florida. Highly recommended; talk to Terry Dingus. Used are likely at market values. Yesterday they had a really clean FJ for sale.

I had the perfect experience with Rusty Wallace Toyota - Morristown, TN. (https://www.rustywallacetoyota.com/) No over MSRP pricing. We picked our 4Runner up within 5 hours of it arriving on the lot. We were there less than an hour. Worked with Jimmy Campbell & Rusty Shropshire.

Another local no over MSRP dealership is Fox Toyota in Clinton, TN. They were very nice and helpful, but they just didn't have the allocation we wanted.

List of Shame - Toyota Knoxville - at least $10k over MSRP and completely unapologetic.

I can add to this as looking to get a Pro. Went to Atlanta Toyota and was told on top of these add ones there is a $10k market adjustment for all Pros. Was told non-negotiable and they have a list of people paying with no questions asked. Apparently he told me they had brokers buying their cars and reselling them for $15k more. I have purchased at least four Toyotas from them in the past and will be looking elsewhere.

Sales guy at AutoNation in Tempe AZ said they just got a Lime Rush Pro in and want 15K "market adjustment". Went from 1K two weeks ago to 5K last week and now 15K. Whoa!

Hmmmm that’s weird….. I’ve been working with them too and there is no mention of this- I’m waiting for a lime rush with them and they have one in the pipeline but nothing in person yet. Also been checking their website and no lime rush showing. My guy also specifically said the markup was def not that high. I guess only time will tell…. I should have numbers/paperwork today.

I was told by two sales people (one apparently horning in on my guy) last night that a Lime Rush Pro was or had landed and that the "big boss" wanted it sold for 15K market adjustment. I do hope your guy is able to honor your deal. Seems to be a bit of a feeding frenzy going on. Glad to hear that you are getting something on paper. Website is not reflecting reality.
