TRD?

I recently purchased my 2000 limited from the original owner. 105000 miles and drives like new. Can anyone explain the small TRD stickers that are are on the front fenders? Does it mean there are TRD options on my 4Runner or are they just stickers?

Update: I looked it up by VIN number with Toyota. It has no TRD options. Just stickers on my fenders. Thank you all!

 

I don't think TRD was a thing on third gens, everyone just adds stickers because they think it looks cool. That sticker is way too modern, it was definitely added by the previous owner.

 

The man who actually bought the vehicle new, died. I bought it from his family who said the stickers have been there since the vehicle was new but did not know what they meant.

 

Welcome to the forum. I believe that sticker is a more recent addition.

 

No such thing, just stickers added.

 

Maybe they just wanted you to feel like you got something "extra special".

Doesn't look like it's on straight either, or maybe it's just the angle.

I'd personally have to bring out the heat gun and some Goo Gone.

 

Just an add on sticker. Funny story, I have TRD stickers on my 92 and was at the dealership when a salesman commented that he didn't know that Toyota had TRD stuff back in the 90's. They didn't.

 

They may not have, tis true, but from what I understand, each sticker adds 5HP to the truck. Leave 'em there!


That's a joke. Been running around the forums for years. Badges, stickers, etc, all add HP.

'98 started for the Tacoma's, though TRD was a thing for much longer than that.

 

10hp if it's a TRD sticker, and 20hp if your 4R is red

There were no TRD package or options for the 3rd Gen 4Runner, so any stickers / decals were purely for aesthetics.
