17x8 TRD factory rims. What is the biggest tire you can fit on this size rim?

If you are talking about the TRD Pro wheel, that's 17x7. I had them and could fit 285s no problem. There are the TRD Off road wheels that are 17x7.5

I have a 295/70/17 on the off road wheel for my spare, fits perfectly fine.

So I could put a 285/70 R17 with no problem?

I haven't heard of 17x8 TRD factory spec. I only know of 17x7 TRD Pro and SR5 wheels or 17x7.5 TRD Offroad wheels.

As per tire manufacturer spec by BFG KO2 or Falken Wildpeak AT3W the max wide tire you can get on TRDPRO or SR5 wheel is 275/70R17. With a TRD offroad wheel you can go 285/70R17 or 285/75R17.

Easiest way go to Falken Wildpeak site, go to specs and go to 17in size section for different tire sizes and it will show what is the minimum width a wheel needs to be.

I could be wrong. I may have confused it with another wheel I was looking at.
