There's an airport in Sullivan our flying club has been pondering a move to from Brookfield airport. Not sure we'll every pull the plug in my lifespan in the MKE area, but perhaps one day. I plan to be Up Nort before that likely every happens.

We ended up waiting about 30-40 minutes to get seated at Potosi, so you guys made the right call heading out.

Yes. It's a few blocks from Kwik Star.

There was a section in Iowa we had to skip. We turned around at the barricades and caught the trail a few miles later.

The day was a lot longer than the wife and I anticipated. We did have a good time hangin' with you guys. We were glad that we took off when we did. Was an early night for us. I was pretty tired. The animals were very happy to see us. They were starving.

We will definitely see you on later excursions.

I'm still driving around with an extra set wheels and tires. I had the tire shop put my original setup back on bad shake at 55.

 

Try tire pressure bump? I increased mine to 42 and it went away. Both my factories and KO2s shook at the recommended 36psi.

Some of us do. I got a CB because that's what everyone I was hitting trails with had a few years ago. I will continue to run CB until everyone else switches to GMRS or HAM.

A decent CB setup is fairly inexpensive. Mine is also completely removable.

 

Have you been up that fire tower? It's not a bad climb, and the view is fantastic! Aside from seeing for miles, you can see a bunch of tornado damage from a birds eye view.

I have had issues with out of balance tires. I have had a chain store balance my tires and been left with a wobble, and then I've had them re-balanced at Performance Off-road and they're perfect. The 4Runner seems especially sensitive to out of balance tires.

If you decide to re-balance your tires, have them remove the weights and start fresh.

I'm going to skip the sandy area off Sleeter road. I'd like to head right to the section near Bro Rock/Instagram hill. There's a spot in that section that looks very interesting, but we always drive right past it.

We can stop at the gas station/general store in Crooked Lake along the way if needed.

If we get to the area by the rock garden early enough, I'd like to climb that again. I'll gladly attempt to spot and help anyone else who's interested as well. I don't recommend anyone without armor attempt it, though.

 

@Thatbassguy 14th I might be able to go 13th I have a course to attend. Can my rig make it ? no skid plating here !

Plenty of stock Tacomas and 4Runners have made it. There are bypasses at all of the more difficult spots. Armor is only necessary if you decide to attempt the rock garden.

It's always been a good time up there.

 

@mweisslaw there's usually information in here about upcoming events in the Wisconsin area. The 14th will probably be my last trip to the Pipeline until next June, but there are parking lot gatherings and other events in early spring.
