Hello all - Noob here. I purchased my first T4R TRD Premium a few months ago. We love it!

    FOB question
I have a key ring with only a couple other keys on it, however I often have to stuff it into my pocket or gym bag. One day I look at my key ring and the FOB is gone... only the metal key still dangling from the ring :-(

Being a rookie I had not realized how easy it was for the small button to be pushed to remove the key, but more importantly that by removing the metal key... it detaches the FOB entirely. It seems fairly likely that over time that little button will get pushed unintentionally and off goes the FOB. Well that is what must have happened to me.

I checked in at the Grocery store - they had four T4R FOBs but not mine. The walgreens 1 T4R FOB, checked at the gym six T4R or similar FOBs! ALL without the metal key, just the FOB. Turns out, I'm not alone in losing my FOB in this way.

    My question:
Has anyone run into this issue and have you figured out a solution like a specialized FOB protector that will keep the metal key connected to the remote FOB. I don't believe I'll be using that function very often and would rather "lock" the unit together in some way.

PS: I'm in San Diego. I replaced the FOB and had both remote keys reprogrammed at a local Toyota Dealership: $320

FYI- I am pretty sure the 2022 key FOB is a new design.

I have a Tile Tracker attached to mine. Won't prevent the fob and key separating but will help you find it if it does.

I looked at the video for the V1. Looks like it does not solve the OP's problem, since the key will still separate from the FOB if pressure is applied to that tab on the side of the unit.

Can you put it back original if needed?
