Bought the 4Runner at the start of the pandemic 3/2020, and spent the lock down year outfitting it for a cross country road trip in 2021. Just got back after 10 weeks and ~12,000 miles.

I can now see a few improvements needed for the next trip, so I'll be drawing on the wisdom of this forum.

    On the agenda:
    - 2-way radio (not the best cell coverage on the 4x4 trails.)
    - Refrigerator (finding ice, and then draining/re-packing the cooler got old after a while.)
    - Dual battery system (to power the above stuff)
    - Roof rack tool box (the toolbox used prime real estate, and was never needed. Thankfully)

    Welcome, Nice choice on trim!

I gotta agree, going from a Yeti cooler to a Dometic fridge was a game changer…

Welcome from Maine, we had a limited that we picked up and did the cross country thing, but in under 3 weeks time. Currently waiting on a new runner to outfit for another cross country trip, and other travel. I plan to get a plug in cooler versus the fridge, my thinking is we do a lot tent camping, and with a solar set up, the plug in cooler can serve both types. And, it will be nice for backyard gatherings, just plug it in and cold storage is ready.
