Wasn’t really looking to get into another 4Runner until next spring, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. 2018 Pro with 27,500 miles. $38k before trade in. Gotta get a canvasback liner for the cargo area and replace the tires. Probably do some other small mods at some point.

Their internet guy accidentally reduced the price by an additional $11,000. Luckily for me I was the only one that noticed, but the dealer decided to honor that price.

Same. First white vehicle ever, but it does look good in Pro trim (kinda got a Stormtrooper feel). Originally I was gonna try for a Lunar Rock ORP next spring.

Darling's Ford in Brunswick. It was sold as a CPO at Berlin City just a month or so ago, but got traded in almost immediately. I think they said the customer started a business and needed something else (guessing a sprinter van or work truck... didn't ask). Its in fantastic shape.

Not familiar with Billy Strings, but Bela is really good. I play more old-time than bluegrass, but like all of it. Also a homebrewer, hence the name.

Nice! Sweet deal on a sweet truck. I would treat that dealership nicely for honoring that. Buy your parts there or something. Congratulations!

I said I'd give them a great review. That's all they asked for. I guess the dealership has changed hands a few times over the past few years, so the reputation had taken a bit of a hit. I've never had a Ford so had never even been there before. Just saw the truck in the front line while driving by. The new owner has a good reputation in this state, so I'm guessing they figured the good review/experience was worth the financial hit.

Ah, didn't realize it wasn't a Toyota dealership. Still, good for you! Plus, maybe they got a deal on it from the PO and still made money.

I got a 17 year old that plays Guitar, Banjo, Chello and when he gets away with it, his sisters mandolin. They grew up attending Bluegrass festivals.

I left for about a year, was headed to Alaska, but met my wife while stopping over in NH, changed my plans for the long haul.

Yeah, I was leery and thought it was simply too good to be true. But they let me take it on an overnight test-drive, and I went over it with a fine toothed comb (as much as I could). Went back right when they opened the next day and said "I'll take it". Didn't want someone to buy it out from under me since I hadn't put any money down because they only take non-refundable deposits.

Canvasback Cargo liner ordered. In color Mocha. Not sure what tires to get. LT vs SL.. etc

Wild Peaks vs KO2s vs General Grabbers..,

I’m not a tire guy by any means.

Congrats on a hell of a deal! I'm impressed with that dealer, that's a very stand-up thing to do.

I'm running the Grabber ATX online. I went with the stock size in a P rated version. Wasn't planning on lifting it for a while, and didn't want to increase tire weight to reduce mileage as this is my daily driver. I'm very happy with them. I got stuck in a storm coming back from New Hampshire last February, was out before the plows on 93 and they were very confidence-inspiring. They're also relatively quiet, and they roll nice and smooth. Also, at least when I bought mine, they were a bargain compared to BFG K02s, and I think at the time they were still cheaper than the Falkens too since the price on those has gone up quite a bit. My local Toyota dealer was actually running a buy 3 get 1 free deal that didn't have any strings attached, so I picked up all 4 mounted and balanced with alignment for just over seven hundred bucks.

Looks are subjective, but I think these are a great looking tired as well. The Falkens are supposed to be good too, and I like the tread pattern, but I really dislike the look of the sidewall. I think the General sidewall mixed with the Falken tread would be a perfect tire, LOL.

Thanks for the detailed response! It looks like I can get a set of the Generals for $600 right now. Not sure if the other brands are worth the extra $$.

This is my daily driver, so 90+ % is highway travel. No true trail crawling around here. Just old logging and fire roads.

Okay, sounds like the price of the generals hasn't gone up then. When I bought them they were around 150, 160 each. And General runs $100 rebate pretty often.

Your youth sounds exactly like mine, so I think they will suit you perfectly. The one downfall I noticed with them is even though they're really not that much heavier than the stock size, the more aggressive tread has a little more rolling resistance I guess, because it did initially feel a little slower, and my fuel economy did noticeably drop when I switched to them.

I've gotten used to the perceived acceleration loss, and I think the tires maybe broke in a little bit and I got used to them, because my fuel economy is back up to around 20.1 to 20.5 on average. Like you I do like 90% highway driving. The first few tanks with them I could barely crack 18 MPG, and I was like what the heck did I do? Haha.
