What is the best lift kit for 3rd gen 4Runner that is also affordable. I would like to spend less than $800. Also a 3 inch lift would be preferred

I was going to copy my post I made to someone the other day also asking what the best lift kit is to buy.

That is, until I saw the $800 budget.

You're best bet is OME all around.

Unless you've owned your 4Runner for awhile and are up to date on all maintenance, you're better off spending that money taking care of stuff you'll need.

Another thing, keep it at 2" especially if you're 4x4.

Screw it, I'll post it here anyway.

Custom tuned/valved will be your best bet.

ADS comes to mind as they do everything in-house and can send you shocks valved to your liking upon ordering.

Accutune offers the same service but they do so with other brand companies they themselves carry IE Fox, King, Icon, etc.

Personally, I run King 2.5 front and rear and was not disappointed with how they felt on the worst type of washboards. Always found the right speed to take where I felt like I was "floating" above them.

Of course, if you want to maximize travel....front and rear shocks aren't the only parts you're replacing -

Just what you're seeing above in my setup I have just a few hundred less of $5k.

Long travel with bypass shocks and air bumps will feel way better though. You're also talking more than double the cost...

That's an awesome setup. I don't see that much for 3rd gen. I bet it will ride great both onroad and off-road. Good example to others..

Thanks; it offers great travel considering it's IFS on a mid-travel setup.

After all the homework I decided 2” OME. Wheelers off road had the best price. It will likely be a month or so before I get time to install. I’ll post my impressions then.

It's not a kit, no actual kits exist for these vehicles...well there are a few but just cheap junk.

    Buy everything separately.

    Just about $5k shown there.
