    Hi Everyone,

I'm a prospecting 4runner owner. Given the current market, I'm considering buying a 5th gen 2014 with 140,000 miles for $26,000 from a private seller... Is that crazy?!?! I want to avoid going to the dealership... Any insight or buying tips will be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

I'd hardly consider that high mileage, especially for a 7 year old 4Runner. If seller has done maintenance , not dogged it out and no rust issues, I'd bag it. maybe blue book the price first and see where it sits but that should be a solid vehicle

Thank you for the input. It's hard for me to pull the trigger on a car with so much mileage and at that price. But I'll definitely see what I can do to learn more about this truck. Thank you!

ha!! Agreed. I’m gonna hit that mileage in two years.

OP, change all the fluids front to back and call it a day. It’s a Toyota. You will be fine. Just get a good check done on it. You will probably need shocks/struts, bushings, fluids etc. one thing at a time

I get ya....I'm old enough to remember when 100k was considered high mileage...took me a long time to get used to the fact that vehicles can go a lot longer now. Even my PITA 06 Chevy Trailblazer is still rockin at 185k (with some work of course)
