I think I’ve narrowed it down between two choices for rock sliders.. RSG Metalworks and C4 Fabrication.. I like them both, but just wanted to get some feelers for what would be the better option?

Also, I’m looking to do maybe a 2” lift, so am looking for recommendations for that also!

I just installed Green Lane Offroad sliders last week. Really nice looking and very light. You can't use a hi-lift jack on them, but they function as a normal slider made of steel would. With the CAD-USD exchange rate, they are pretty much the same price as everything else, and the turn-around time is less than a month.

Hi, I'm in the process of making the same decision.
    Here are my requirements:
    1. Must use DOM tubing
    2. Must serve as jack point if necessary
    3. Must have kick out
    4. Must be compatible with KDSS (for me)
    5. Must be bolt on
    6. Must have a good design aesthetic

My favorite currently is C4 Fabrication, except the 14 week wait for shipping.
I discovered Wescott Designs a few months ago and it looks like they make a quality product.
I'll wait to see what the OP comes up with.

Not completely sure about the DOM, but otherwise RCI would meet your retirements.

I ordered mine with powder coating and have them on almost a year in FL and no signs of rust at all at this point.

    I’m guessing it’s because you’re in Florida.

It is certainly true that we don't have salted roads in the winter. However, I would add that Florida is extremely humid and rust will happen to any metal here that is not properly painted or coated.

I did just recently complete a 3 week trip out west without tiny camper. We went down many dirt roads in the Rockies. Our tiny camper frame was beat up and rust was forming. I spent a couple of days sanding and painting. My RCI rocksliders were still in fine shape. I'm not trying to over hype RCI, but am merely presenting my experience.

I'm running the Ironman Stage III Foam Cell, probably the best bang for the buck 2" lift you can get. No need for a second reservoir, highly reliable. Good price too.

Do you guys know if Westcott’s sliders are KDSS compatible? Don’t see it on their website.

I am running RCI sliders (they are 1.75" DOM) and I have KDSS - they were easy to install and I haven't had any issues. RCI website is saying 4-8 weeks on current lead times but on the shorter side for 2010+ 4Runner. You can also enter T4R in the coupon code for a 5% discount so that helps with shipping.

I did a lift from Dobinsons, UCAs and a 1" diff drop. They were very helpful with the right parts for KDSS and the size lift I wanted 2.5" front and 1.5" rear. I have had the lift for 2 years and very satisfied with ride

Maybe a dumb question, but again, still new to upgrading and car parts, ect.

But what is the main difference in HREW, DOM, and HRO. What is the best one to go for?

I'm not a metallurgist but did see this table on the RCI site - not sure about HRO

Tubing Type - Hot Roll Electric Welded (HREW) steel tubing vs. Drawn Over Mandrel (DOM) tubing.

    HREW - Yield Strength (PSI) - 48,000 Ultimate Strength (PSI) - 65,000
    DOM - Yield - 72,900, Ultimate - 82,300

I also considered structure/size of main tube and cross framing, gussets and frame plate/mounting.

Another option is White Knuckle. They are the best LOL everyone will tell you the sliders they bought are the best. With so many option in the market, it's hard to go wrong.

Here's why I went with white knuckle:
    - Easy install and didn't require drilling
    - DOM or HREW options
    - Custom angle options
    - Kickouts and plate options
    - Many sliders do not extend under the fender flares and stop under the rocker. Reasons I've been told is to allow for bigger tires. White Knuckle extends under the rear fender flare but stops short up front. I think this is aesthetically pleasing AND still allows for bigger tires since the main clearance issues will be up front.
    - I like the look of the square inner tubing

From what I hear RSG has great customer service and products. A few guys in my neighborhood went through them for their lift and armor and had a great experience. I’m getting a 2” lift from them in 2 weeks - Bilstein 6112/5160 OME medium duty rear spring - so far they’ve been absolutely fantastic to deal with.

Love their sliders. My ORP came with OEM rock rails which looks good but aren’t quite as robust as I’d like, nor do the have enough of a step for my kiddos to get in easily(if anyone is interested let me know). Might try to get RSG’s angled sliders with top grip plate when I get my lift!

Just an update. Lift went on (Bilstein 2” 5160/6112, SPC UCAs) and the truck drives amazingly well. Cornering, off-road both dramatically better. Doesn’t feel too stiff to me, but I drove fast cars as a kid and Jeep’s as an adult so bouncy/floaty stock bothered me. Anyway, suspension is now awesome.

No sliders, bit expensive, hopefully next year as I was drooling over them in the show room.
