truck stalls when braking for a light

Hello,
my 99 4runner stalls when I brake a little too hard for a light. As I am braking, it starts to run rough and then dies. I have a new engine (remanufactured) with 400 miles on it right now. Its been running beautifully up until today. Funny thing is that it started doing this before I replaced the engine. Any insights as to what might cause this would be appreciated and if you have had a similar problem and possible cure, I would be interested in that also. Thanks in advance. T. in Atlanta

First of all, Thank you for your response. I watched the video and I knew of the dirty IAC issue and over-revving. I have a brand new throttle body so thats not the issue. But again, thank you!. I have a question, with a screen name of Moon Landing, did you work for Nasa. The reason I ask is because my dad worked for Marshall Space Flight Center. Off subject I know but I was just curious. Love that Lunar Rock color BTW.

 

Not directly. Was trained on Minuteman, Titan & Bomarc missiles, and involved in product testing of things to be used on the space shuttle while stationed at both Vandenberg & Edwards. Nothing special, I assure you.

Yeah, I saw that too, thank you. One thing Ive noticed is that it only happens when Im near empty. However, if you know older 4runners, reaching empty means you have 7 gallons remaining. So...there may not be any coorelation. I will replace the the brake booster hose and see if that helps. your input is appreciated. enjoy your new truck!
