I was looking to order a 2022 4runner offroad premium. How is the multi terrain camera? Would I still be able to change the grille to trd pro grille with the camera and is it good to have ?

My guess is yes. It looks like Toyota moved the TSS sensor lower on the bottom piece of the grill to make room for the camera. Since your ORP would have the same lower piece, I would assume the TRD grill would fit just fine. It also looks like there is a space between the camera and valence suggesting you no longer need a valence that has the TSS cutout that the 20/21s needed. Meaning you may be able to use the '19 and earlier valence as well. You will need to wait until more 2022s hit the streets to know for sure.

Damn the camera sticks out like a sore thumb. They could of attempt to make it look better.

Do all 2022 TRDOP come with them? Or do they have to ordered?

I think it is standard safety equipment on all 2022 models but I would have to check the Toyota website to be sure.

I looked online and I think it's only on the TRD Pros? Let me know if you find something because I'm taking mine back to the dealer if so. My '22 does not have it...

In Canada the MTM is standard on the TRD off road, and in the USA I believe you need to add the premium plus package.

"The MTM is an option for the 2022 TRD Off-Road Premium trim level. The 2022 continues with the standard Toyota Safety Sense-P bundle of driver assistance technology."
Oh well, I'll have to live w/out it lol.

I stand corrected. Good to know it is an option, thanks for clearing that up.

So to help the OP, is your sensor up high like previous years or down low like the pro models?

Well OP there you go. Ignore what I said previously. If your sensor is up high (no camera) you’ll need the valence with the the TSS cutout. If you order one with the optional camera, the 2022 Pro grill should work.

Wait, that's a camera? I didn't even know that was an option.

[IMG] I installed a camera on my 2021 SR5P right in front of the TSS radar and it's no problem. I used the Anytime Backup kit so I can view my rear camera at anytime (hence the name). It's very handy when I'm towing to be able to look at the hitch, electrical connection and safety chains while in motion. The front camera is quite useful on the trails when your nose is pointed up and you can't see over the hood.

Cool, but all a hard pass for me, but to each their own. I like my aftermarket dash cam though,.. but any of that, they can keep, rather not pay, or even have it. Id never use it, and, for me, dont need to.

One of my favorite and most useful mods, mounted just above the TOYOTA. Expand the image and look VERY close. It's there. Nice thing about that location is the way it can be adjusted to capture what's immediately in front of you. I can see what's on the ground approximately a foot to 18" before the front end passes over it.

Thank you. The parts and pieces came from here https://www.beatsonicusa.com - the install is mentioned in post #52 of my build thread.

What brand is the bumper you are using? I can't quite make out the logo and that bumper looks like it would work with the 2022 TSS and Camera.
    Thanks

I have installed the similar SSO on a 2014 4Runner and a 2019 Tacoma but they were slow to offer one with the higher hoop that did not interfere with the TSS. So, I bought the TSO. They sent the wrong one so I had to return it for the right one. Installation instructions aren't great but it is a solid option once I worked out the kinks.

Thanks - I had seen that before, but the photos on the web site only show vehicle without the bull bar, so was very hard to judge if it would work with camera, let alone TSS.
Think I need to ring them up and maybe order.
How'd you feel about the way it installs - nice and solid? Or did you think they could've done better?

It is a solid installation. Plenty sturdy. I would have no qualms about using it for a recovery.
