FYI - There is a thread somewhere that has all the individual parts that make up the whole system. It's way cheaper to buy all the parts than it is to just buy the kit. Stupid, i know, but you can save 30-50% depending on what online parts store you choose.

i tried that actually. i found a list of the part #'s from a site and it actually turned out to be around $525 with no discounts. I'm assuming it was this price bc it was from the dealership i believe.

yeah, you would have to shop that around to the online parts departments. I usually shop at McGeorge which is way cheaper than my local dealership. I think for these in particular I found Conicelli to be the cheapest. They also have a 10% off coupon that you can find online. Something like eBay10 or something like that. A quick google search should net you the code.

I'm sorry if this is redundant, but I've had my 2020 4runner for almost a year. At initial purchase I wanted to get the TRD cold air intake as an option, but was told it didn't fit. I went to Amazon entered my info where it asks to see if it fits and it did not. I see many 4runners with this intake I find it hard to believe it doesnt fit mine. Any thoughts or another thread I can check? Greatly appreciated.

I parted mine out and it was cheaper. I am actually trying to sell it since I am looking at selling the 2019 4Runner I have to get a '21.

I have a 2020 4runner venture and the TRD cold air intake fits perfectly.

Just put a TRD emblem on your stock airbox and call it good.

Spend the $500 on gas money for an excellent adventure. :)

Anyone have a ballpark estimate as to how long it takes to install the TRD CAI?

Took the original off and installed the TRD CAI in about 1.5 hours. And I took my time.

He could do that but that would be janky. Like buying toyota prius and then putting 4runner emblems on it. Why stop there? Put PRO stickers on his wheels, take the SR5 off and replace it with PRO.

I guess I'm a janky kind of guy.

Just ordered Pro badges for my SR5.

Nothing wrong with that, to each his own. You can also put a sticker on top of the 4runner PRO when you get it, "when I grow up I wanna be a" then 4runner pro. I actually put that on my 3rd gen 4runner but Tundra.

ha!! I think he was being sarcastic. The new intake looks pretty, but for $500, money can be better spent elsewhere. Especially since there is so little gain. Then again, it’s not my vehicle

I was being sarcastic too, Thats the point I was trying to make, that guy wants a trd CAI, let him have it, his truck, his money. OP ask if it will fit, not if he should get it.

I've heard a few HP and 19 ft-lbs of additional torque. More torque can't be a bad thing?

Oh absolutely not. I’ll tread carefully in this just because I know it really is a matter of opinion. The minimal gain is not really noticeable. Little better throttle response. I put a cold air on my cobra got me an extra 26rwhp. Not bad. Noticeable?? Not really. This was on an 03. Today, it’s even less because manufacturers are giving you what is basically a cold air from the factory (most have tubes that get “cold” air through the fender of the vehicle). End of the day, I think they look 1000 times better, but I would rather spend the $500 somewhere else. Once again, it’s just me. I’m old and cheap as hell, lol. What others do to their vehicle is on them. They are the ones that are enjoying them. :)

It would be nice, though, if they weren't referred to as TRD CAI. They are a TRD intake, but no more CAI than the stock airbox.

I'm curious - is the filter in this image from the Amazon link in post #1 an oiled filter?

Coming from the performance car world you are wasting your money on this. Granted it’s your money so you do you, but it’s money best spent elsewhere.
