Does anyone know what the protruding access panel on the front MORE skidplate is? Is that to access the zerk fitting on front driveshaft?

Also, does the rear transfercase plate protect the exhaust pipe that crosses over ?

I think the flush removable panel on the forward crease is the oil filter, not the protuding one behind it.

Thank you very much for your detailed input. Just want to know, if that front skid plate you have also covers the space where you remove the factory plastic cover ? I just vreturned a TRD skid plate because of some soldering issue, and am seriously thinking getting the one you posted.

More questions, do they connect to each other, or is there a gap between the Front skid, Transmission skid, and Transfer case skid?

After use, how do you like them?

    Big thanks

There is a thread on here, search up "Skid plate that deters cat theft" and read about Talon's. I've installed those and haven't thought twice about my cat. Highly recommended.

They do not cover the front. My front bumper (aftermarket) covers the radiator and such. They do overlap each other and there is no gap.

I was in Arizona and hit a mound I could not see at 12 noon. Car went up and slammed down really hard in the center. I was like… oh no something broke for sure. It was a really hard hit. It dented the skid plate and nothing else was hurt. I was totally shocked.

M.O R.E. has just designed a plate that covers the area of the plastic factory cover. It matches their skid plate and fits very well.
They used the measurements off my 2021 4runner for it. I purchased the front skid plate.
You will need to call about this plate as they do not have it online yet. Ask for Mike.

If anyone is set on aluminum -@HarrisNC recently posted about a full set of powder coated aluminum skids from Rival 4x4, which he says came in at around $800, and were in stock. I might have gone with their front skid had I known about them, and could find out if they work with KDSS. The main difference from the RCI skid I got is Rival has an access panel for the engine oil drain plug instead of just a small round hole in the RCI skid for that.
