I've gotten two small paint chips right on the inside of the drivers door from lightly touching the drywall inside my garage.

I've searched extensively here and other forums looking for insight and tips regarding the door edges.

I like the color-matched OEM guards, but have read that install can be tricky and some long-term experience where they've started to pull off.

I also like the lamin-x film, but have read, and observed this on other vehicles, that the clear films can accumulate water and dirt along the edges which then lifts the film.

Does anyone have a picture of their color-matched guards and willing to share their experience and suggestion(s)?

    Thanks!

Another alternative would be putting some kind of foam bumper on your garage wall. This way you don't have to mod your truck.

I install the oem color match guards was easy to install all you have to do is download the instruction and cut out template measure, tape to to the door and tap it with a rubber mallet.
The guard is real tight the only way you can remove the guard is to tap it off with a mallet. I also installed them on my 2016 RAV4 still has not come off.

My 21' ORP came with the OEM door edge guards already installed. I like them since they are narrow and match the paint color. Don't even notice they are there except up-close. Well worth it IMO.
Another option, as mentioned above, are wall pads. Here's one I bought many years ago. Adhesive backing that's very aggressive and won't come loose. So be sure of it's initial placement. Saved my door more than once.
I live in a townhouse. So my two-car garage has the two notorious poles. They are a PITA. But I found these "Pole Wraps" that are truly effective. They will wrap around both round or square poles. I post these pole wraps in case other readers have a similar situation.
    I remember ordering the foam wall pad from California Car Cover.001 (Medium).jpg 004 (Medium).jpg 006 (Medium).jpg 003 (Medium).jpg 002 (Medium).jpg

Anyone think that $40 for the OEM paint-matched door guards is a good price?

YES. I think they are usually about $69.00.
