Based on all the balancing problems I had with my 2013 FJ Cruiser TT with E-Rated BFG Stock Tires, I would highly recommend C-Rated or SL Tires. E-Rated are way too heavy and meant for something like a Ford F-250. They also need to be pumped up to 46 PSI (Federal Government regulations resulted in a recall on the TT models to change tire pressure sticker). At 46 PSI, you will be riding only on the centers only and they will ride like bricks.

I agree that 10 ply LT tires are too heavy & stiff for our 4R's. I have had excellent wear & mileage (running 38 lbs of air) from the BFG KO2's in Load Range C. (6 ply)

I'm running E-rated LT 285's and they are fine. Soft ride and perfectly balanced. 17-18 mpg.

Glad I have them since the off road trails in my area are full of sharp lava rocks.
