    looking to buy a 4runner
    Hello all,

Thanks for adding me. I want to buy a 4runner and really need the 3rd row seats when I am not off road. Is there a trim that has this 3rd row seat option I really want the TRD features.
Is there a option in latin america? Or can i build a TRD from another base model?
Thanks so much for your advice.

Negative ghost rider on TRD with 3rd row.

And from what I've seen its not a direct bolt in if you buy them separately. I could be wrong.

Think the Limited can get the 3rd row as well but not the TRD features.

What do you feel you need on the TRD trim that the SR5 doesn’t have? I know you can’t get Crawl Control or KDSS on the SR5 but both come equipped with A-TRAC from my understanding. I wanted a TRD Off-Road but needed the 3rd row (2 dogs and a baby due in May) so I bought an SR5 Premium and having been investing in other gear to make it more capable (e.g., AT tires, rock sliders, skid plates).

Crawl Control and KDSS are great from what I hear but these trucks are super capable stock. Depending on what you’re planning on doing in the truck you may be better served buying an SR5 and investing in AT tires, skid plates, and recovery gear.

what’s more important to you, 3rd row seats or crawl controls and kdss? many people have modded Sr5 and limiteds which are more then capable of taking on most trails.

The only way to get both is to modify. You can either buy a TRDOR and buy all of the necessary components to install a third row, or you can buy an SR5 and modify it for your needs (add a locker, suspension between the TRDOR and SR5 is the same, but you won't be adding CC or KDSS). But from the factory or dealer, you aren't getting a third row TRD.

What do you drive now that allows you to get to your secluded places?

SR5 with good tires is more capable than most people will ever need. The atrac system is pretty good and has gotten me through places when i had 1 or 2 tires off the ground. Better than the atrac version on 2nd gen tacomas.

Here’s a few pictures of my third row Limited TRD :) The third row to me was more important then CC and kdss. But I modded to look like TRD :)

Hey Daytonaviolet, Your 4-runner looks great! We are looking to buy a pearl white Limited edition but want it to look more like a TRD. Can you give us more specifics about what we should add to it and where to purchase those items? Thx so much! PS....can you post a picture of yours from the sideview as well? Thx!

I have a complete list of trd parts needed to make the conversion. Most folks usually convert just the front bumper. But i did the bumpers, rockers, hood and suspension.

    Feel free to ask
Dai, mi esposa es Costarricense! What did you hear about problems with SR5 and lifting 3 inches? Haven’t had any problems with mine yet. If you absolutely need the 3rd row, go for the SR5 and a good set of AT/MT tires and recovery gear. If you find yourself needing more than the ATRAC then you can have a rear locker installed. The downside to the 3rd row, besides added weight, is the loss of any usable cargo space with the 3rd row seats up. A cousin of my wife lives in Monteverde and has a LC Prado (J90). He is pretty big into 4 wheeling down there and I’m certain his Prado doesn’t have CC or KDSS.

This would be the best way to find the details IMO.

Basically the sr5 and limited are exactly the same except for the gun turret on the limited. Hope that helps.

Thank you guys foe the help. I ended up picking up a 2020 limited “ nightshade edition”. I love it so far. I’m going to lift it and throw on some wheels next.
