I'm returning the alpine to Cartoys. I called Crutchfield, what a great experience! They're supplying all mounting brackets and harnesses for free. They got me speakers, amp and everything I'll need for installation at my $800 budget. The guy I spoke with was fantastic, he educated me and helped me understand some of the things I was confused with. I've also got free access to their tech support if I have any questions during installation. I plan to install this and my Rigid 40" Radiance+ over Labor Day weekend. I'll keep you posted.

The Subaru Kicker Tweeters are a good and decently priced option, they sound way better than stock. I went with those and also the Alpine 8" under front passenger seat mounted sub. It's a decent set up.

You will be way happier, sometimes I feel I pay a little extra with them but I don’t have an issue, and I’m cheap and will spend more of my time than it’s worth to keep money in my pocket.

I did Kicker Key 200.4 love it. No need to upgrade speakers door speakers in my opinion. Also have a sub with dedicated Key 500.1.

Thanks to this thread I installed these today. The difference is noticeable, sound from the front is brighter and a bit more detailed highs. Had to play with levels a bit but it does sound better. $95 better? Considering it only took me about 15 minutes to install them both and they required no modification of wiring or mount points, yeah I'd say they are worth the money.

I think it makes a big difference for vocals and for talk radio and using the Bluetooth for phone calls.

Considering how crappy the original speakers are, these are a nice upgrade.
