I think it's a cool color but I'm not sure I'd get it. Might grow old after awhile.

Kinda like when you try on some clothes at the mall and think they look great. Then you get home and say, why did I buy this?

That is crazy I think I read here if I recall correctly that most prices for 2022 models would be up about $5k or is that just Pro.

Brother and sister in law went to a dealer near Ft Worth to buy 2 used cars, a 17'? Tacoma and an 18' 4Runner. The 4Runner SR5 (https://www.shottenkirktoyotaweathe...r-sr5-4wd-4d-sport-utility-jtebu5jr5j5512165/ ) was listed at 40k or so and had "dealer add on's" not listed on the site of around 6-8k. 4k of which was a dealer "prep fee" for getting the vehicle ready to sell. The Tacoma was at 27-30k with about the same add ons and markups. They wanted to pay what was advertised on their site, not all the add on's and markups. The sales guy and his manager acted as if they were insane and basically called them ridiculous in no uncertain terms and let them walk out. They took a pass on the sale of two walk-in guaranteed purchases. Salesmen have grown some big balls, and people aren't helping buy caving to the prices...

Needless to say, they are waiting on one of the cars, (Hers) and he is continuing to look due to having no car. (Wrecked his car just before a year long deployment for the reserves and didn't replace.). Worst time to buy ever.

OP, I don't care for the color, and I would never pay that much over sticker. I got our 21' ORP for 41k in March. Wait for the shit storm to be over.

Its like the housing market. I don’t mind paying MSRP, but I want the difference in my trade value.

If I was in a tough situation and needed to buy something, I would find something in the range of the add on dealer fees, and drive that till shit changes. I wouldn’t let my self be at the mercy of the dealers.

Agreed, we're going to fix sisters car and drive it till the wheels fall off. Better financial move anyway. They had to buy a house in this mess too. Closed 3 weeks ago. DFW is a crazy market, my house is up 235k (55%) in value since 16'. Property tax assessments and escrow analysis just rolled in too. FML.

I have some friends who run a local Honda dealer and they told me that they had a meeting at that Honda Corp suggested this chip issue may be off and on again through 2022. I have no idea how true that is but it sounds like this issue in the industry may persist for some time. I am grateful I placed my order in March and locked in before all the craziness.

Looking at the car fax on that 2018 4R I would be leary coming out of Quebec Canada or more so from the Maritime area of Canada. i remember a bunch of Explorers and Ranger pickups bough in auction that came to Michigan from that area pre covid and they were all flood vehicles from hurricanes and bad storms from that area. That's just my $02 based on my readings.

Reading this, I'm feeling better about paying roughly $1200-1500 over the original sticker of our used (5 months and 7000 miles) 21 Venture after all was said and done with extra trade value and give-me's.

It's a crazy market for sure.
