Got my TRD offroad wheelsback from the powder coater

I Got my other set of wheels back from the powder coater and finally found some matching plasi dip to do the center caps.

 

The color is great. Do you have pics of the whole truck with the wheels?

 

this is without the center caps, still need to figure out a way to black out the door handles

Thanks, wasn't cheap but I wanted something slightly different than most others out there. The color is US burnt bronze by prismatic powders.

Yes. Maybe that's a stupid question...

 

Tires have to be removed.

 

Just wanted to be sure before answering. Yeah, the metal has to be bare and cleaned/prepared for the powder coating process to work. Check out a youtube video on it. Its pretty ingenious.

While they look excellent, one piece goes flying and you have to remove them all. Those little stickers seem quite weak.

 

I have bought 2 different sets of the door handle covers. Neither fit worth a shit. Some of the chrome stuck out looked awful. Im either going to have them wrapped or get a set when the new trd sport model comes out so they will be body color matched.
I plasti dipped my roof rack and what ever chemical they use in the touchless car wash around here ruined the finish. Ill make do until I get a roof rack.

Yeah, part of the reason I was wanting a 2021 Venture Edition was because of the blacked out items. No luck on 2021 Venture with all of the features I want so will get a MY 2022 ORP. I'm considering changing the cosmetics to black on the ORP. OEM black door handles are a bit pricey but may be the only way to go. Wasn't impressed with the covers and I question the longevity of having them wrapped???

 

Cost of powder coating with special order color and tax was $760. I have had the chrome on my Limited wrapped for almost 3 years no with zero issues. It wasn't cheap. I had it clear wrapped on the front end, headlights and mirrors included plus a chrome delete minus the door handles and rear hatch tri piece and total was $1900. I f the wrap is installed correctly then It should last.
Since mine has the keyless entry i am limited on options for OEM door handles in black until the TRD sport 4runner comes out.

 

I wrapped the carbon door handle covers black but they just fit so horribly.

I believe the new Trail Edition has these wheels in dark grey and the original Venture Edition had TRD wheels in grey. Lately the Venture Edition has had the standard TRD wheels in black.

If I can't get the Venture Edition with all that I want I'll get the MY 22 ORP and am considering powder coating the stock wheels gunmetal grey.

 

I have had the front chrome wrapped including the lower bumper pieces, The window trim was wrapped as well. Since these pictures I have blacked out the roof rack and will soon be wrapping the door handles in flat black vvivid vinyl wrap. I will be swapping out the tailgate trim piece for a black one this next weekend.

OP - those are absolutely beautiful. Powder coated mine and gloss black a couple years back. They've held up great. Color matched the Toyota emblems on wheels and overlays to Calvary Blue.

Great color, had my oem wheels done after my local Shell station gouged mine when mounting new tires...also used a prismatic powder color, shimmer glass color, matched my 2015 Harley color called black magic. Great multi color flake, sparkles when sun hits it.

Wow that color looks so nice man. I remember I wanted to powder coat my same rims as yours but in a gold color to go on my red 4runner, but I ended up buying the Bronze TRD Pro rims. That bronze looks great though not gonna lie, makes me miss my stock rims a little
