I Have a 2007 four runner the fan seems to not work as strong on the drivers side as the passengers side. The ac is cool on the passenger side an non on the drivers side ware should I start? I have read ac needs to be charged but have been told that its a sealed system and no charge needed.

I had AC problems in my 2005 runner. Replaced the compressor with new and evaporator with new, and I've been ice cold for months.

These parts wear out and leak in 10 12 years.

Parts totaled about $210 at Amazon.

Any good mechanic can replace them in your driveway for $60. Replacing the evaporator is a pretty big job. Cost me $800 in labor.

AC is indeed a sealed system but can have refrigerant added at the inlet in the engine bay. You can get the DIY bottle at Autozone or wherever or take it to the dealer if you desire.
As for fan output, check the cabin air filter 'behind' the glove box. If thats not dirty, have to take a bit more apart down there so you can check the blower motor. If thats not bogged down itself, a short burst of air from a compressed air line through the air ducts could help if something is in the ducting.

I mean anyone happening to have the same issue as OP even if it is old, can still wind up finding relevant answers. Google will still link to these old threads. No harm in providing some info:cheers:

Agreed. Key words being relevant answers... nothing in capt's Aug 10 post is relevant to the OPs question.

@captsolo, please stop the name calling. The misinformation you provide is why you get so many comments on your posts.

Hey thanks for quoting capt's original post.

"Up yours Toy Yode and get lost.
You are AH and an immature moron.
Stop spamming me with your "cheap" comments.
I am multi millionaire and don't like being harassed on this platform by you - an idiot."

The childish name calling doesnt bother me at all, the entertainment value is far too great!

Capt, myself & so many others on here & the other forums only reply to your posts when you post misinformation or revive 6-10 year old threads & dont say anything related to the topic... or when you brag about being a millionaire for no reason & post pics of fish. The personal insults & name calling is why you have such a hard time on these forums & get yourself banned or suspended, you'd think you would learn after the 4th or 5th time but apparently not.

& The misinformation comment above wasnt from me but is accurate.

Hopefully when the line goes away from your user name this time you will learn to act a little better.. then we will all be happy.
