    Help!
I have a 2021 TRD Pro. I don’t know how to use the OEM roof rack (take advantage of it). It seems like a impractical design flaw. After spending $50k plus, i would prefer not to speed another two grand of a front runner rack or Sherpa rack, two months later. Does toyota or someone sell accessories for the rack? A great vehicle, but WTF were they thinking when they put that oem basket on it.

For the tubes, look for stuff that works with the fj cruiser rack (high jack mounts, shovel mounts, etc). The rails going across fit the Yakima 23h mighty mount. You can mount traction boards and such using those and 10 bucks in hardware from Home Depot. You can also use them to mount a case 8f you want to do something like drilling holes in a Plano case etc. (I assume you could use the pelican case mount with it if you got the right size and wanted to pay the money, but I am cheap so I macguyvered mine)

You could trade it here for a standard rack + cash and make a little money in the process. The standard rack is much more practical IMO.

Yep. Baja also makes a drop-in basket designed to clamp into the TRDP roof rack. I thought about that one, but it's expensive for what doesn't seem like much of an upgrade. I will say the OEM basket is kind of growing up me, though, after 7 months of ownership . It's a weird design for sure, and seems like it could have been much better without much more effort. But I like how it looks now, and think I can get by with the options listed above.

I am looking to buy a new TRD Off Road Premium and have been looking at non-OEM racks installs, but I recently took another look at the TRD Pro roof rack. For me, I think it is an iconic look for the 4Runner and am thinking about going with it now. I also would like to know if any has gone with it and how they utilized it. What are the inner specs of it and how exactly can I configured the cross bars (are they set or can I put them anywhere)?
    Thanks

You could do what this owner did...it turned his Pro rack into a much more useable rack configuration, without having to spend a boatload of cash:

I have a 2021 Pro. I can measure it later for the inner dimensions, but regarding the cross bars, they are adjustable and can be moved around.

If you look up the Baja OEM Pro roof basket, you’ll get the dimensions of the drop-in, which should give a good idea of the inner measurements.
